car rentals near port

Good Morning! I am in the works of getting all of our ressies for our cruise. We are staying the night before we leave (Aug 10) at the Radisson which is closest to the port. We are flying to MCO in Orlando and plan on renting a car there and driving to Port Canaveral. My question is what are the car rental companies beside of the Port which we could just drop off and walk right to the port. Can I rent from MCO car rentals and drop off? I can't seem to find any that are "right there".Also has anyone stayed at the Radisson? I was looking and their rates with AAA are not all that bad. Any info would be greatly appreciated! TIA

Budget is about a block or so away from the Radisson and closest to the port. We have a one way rental with them for our May cruise. Can let you know how it went after we get back.

There is a Budget car rental office (CC5) within walking distance to the Radisson. We've used Budget in the past and didn't have any problem with them. You could use either the Radisson shuttle or Budget shuttle to get to the port, both shuttles are free of charge.

There is also an Avis car rental office farther south of the Radisson on A1A. Avis also has free shuttle service to and from the port.

We have used Budget most often. They have a free shuttle. There is no place you can actually walk to the port from. Well, I guess you could, but it would take a while-especially with luggage. The Budget shuttle works well to and from the port. If you are using the Radisson's shuttle, that's fine too. We've used both and had problems with neither.

Budget rentals may be our way of going. I think that they are located under the post I read about a "canopy" that is near from where you disembark.I can't wait to hear about all of your near future Budget experiences. We will also have to rent one for our drive back to MCO, should I reserve that as well in a couple of days?TIA for any advice

I'd reserve it. You can always cancel if you change your mind.

How often do the shuttles run to and from the port?

I think they run continuously. Both times we used them, we we driven to the port as soon as we dropped our car-just our family. I think it's on an "as needed basis."
For the ride home, we were right off the ship. The driver told us that he would go in a loop from the port to Budget until everyone was off and was picked up. I'd guess it would be every 15 minutes or so.

Hertz provides free transportation in the car that you have rented. They are in Cape Canaveral I am not sure how close to the Radisson. We are returning the car the morning of the cruise. I was told that they would simply have a driver get in the car with us and drop us at the ship (or as close to it as allowed!). Good luck!
