Car Rentals in May

I've read that MCO doens't actually have economy cars...and that you'd automatically get a compact. I s that true?

I added a day (from 5+ to 6+ days) and it only added $2 to my total of $72.

Remember all: bigger cars mean more gas. (just saying)

my full size rental came down again for pick up 5/12 @ MCO and returning on the 17th @ Sanford. My new price is 93.85:cool1::woohoo:

I have a question for all you rental car experts! I just signed up for the Alamo Insiders. So, I was able to use the $40 off and I used a 20% off coupon that was on Mousesavers dot com and said it was a code for Alamo insiders only. When I reserved the car, in red it showed up that a coupon code I used might need to be shown upon getting the car. Will I need to show something? There was no coupon that came with these codes.

Bumping as I'd like to confirm as well! We just booked using the same ID/Coupon and saved another $36! The rates this time are great -- $286 for 11 days for a minivan!

Yes, but one car is cheaper and more efficient than two compact cars! There are 7 of us, so we are limited to a minivan or bigger.

Just cancelled/rebooked my Alamo Insiders reservation. Minivan (7 passenger)5/14-5/21. Used last minute specials, changed Corp ID to 7015820 (20%off) plus coupon ID AD4027JDO ($40 off). Total incl. fees/taxes $144.33 (was $181.43).

Mine was the $181 and when I rebook for my dates it comes to only $174.36 I wish it was as low as yours!!!

I used the southwest ID 7015786 which is 25% and double points (credit) for rapid rewards. It was slightly better then the 20% code mentioned above!

when i use that code it only gives me 10% off...maybe it's because of my dates.

Did anyone get the e-mail today that said "Save $40" and underneath it said "Get a Free Double Upgrade."??? I clicked on the link and it was the same $40 code we've all been using. Does that mean we get a double upgrade AS WELL?

So if I reserve a midsize, I'll actually get a full size? Anyone know?

We've switched from National to Alamo as of today - Alamo's rate is about $40 less than our ressie with National using the Alamo Insider contract ID (7015135) and $40 off coupon. Total with fees/taxes is $131 CAD for a mid-size for 11 days :cool1:

I got that email and it's two different promotions...if you click on the $40 off portion, you'll get the $40 off promo code. if you click lower, on the free double upgrade area, you'll get a different upgrade promo code. i just tried it, but the $40 off was a better price.

Not sure about economy to compact but do know it is that for standard to full. No standards at MCO, so if you book a standard, you get a full.

I tried this but I actually get a higher rate that I was getting with the Alamo insider codes.

I am using the contract code 5007125 for Amex Platinum and the coupon ND8578ADT for $35.00 off rental.

Full Size or better from Executive Aisle for Mid Size price, pick up May 14 early am and drop off May 22 late pm.

Hope that helps!

Woohoo....just went from $106 on National EA to $87.37 on Alamo for a Fullsize for 8 days. I am thrilled!!! Can't wait for Saturday!

Midsize 5/20-5/28 keeps going down also. Was $101.66, now $88.43. Still using the Alamo Insider ID and the $40 coupon.
I'm with everyone else, have never gotten prices this low for this time of year. Maybe the gas prices are keeping people from renting and using ME instead.

This is too crazy!!! I had to see if my 3 day reservation for this weekend could possibly get any cheaper than $27 dollars and it did! I am now getting an economy car for 3 days for $19.66 with all taxes and fees. The base rate before the taxes and fees & after the coupons is only $2.38  :woohoo:...total, not per day.

Im renting from Sanford and my rates arent great but was able to rebook today using a diff Corp Id and got a full size down to 269 for 10 days....MCO must be getting better rates than Sanford....

Right now we are booked with a full size but I can save about 25 total if I book a mid size - with a mid size what type (make and model) car would you get at Sanford? Trying to figure out if it would be roomy enough.

I agree....this is crazy!!!!! My base for the full size for 8 days is $40. The rest is taxes and fees! I can't believe they are renting them out...you would think it would be cheaper to let the cars sit at these prices!
