I have a choice of renting a car for a day on-site at either the Swan resort or the Car care center. Any advice on which is better? I thought that the Swan would be best and after returning, walk to the Studios. I have always rented from the airport and returned to the airport.

Actually, you would be renting from the Dolphin. I did just that in May and it was really easy. We walked over on our Epcot day, did all the paperwork, got the keys, and returned to Epcot for dinner and IllumiNations. When we were done, we just walked back to the Dolphin, handed the keys to the valet, and he brought the car around to us, and we drove back to POP. I would do that again any time.

We prefer the Dolphin over car care center. We like the location of it. We usually plan to go over to Mgm or Epcot after but you can always jump on a bus over to Magic Kingdom or AK.

Rates tend to be higher when renting from Dolphin/car care center vs. MCO

My mistake, I meant the Dolphin. Good to hear that it's easy.

Just got back a week ago. Renting a car at the Dolphin was easy but I mis-calculated my time there and they gave my car away! I had to wait before I could get a new one. Other than that, I'd rent there again. Convenient and easy. Thanks for the help!

So were you arrived later at the rental desk than your reserved time? How late were you? Just wondered how long they held the car for you before renting it. Thanks.

Just make sure that you get to the Dophin before they close. We had a reservation for 6pm only to find out that the desk closes at 4pm on Saturdays. We ended up having to get a shuttle to the car care center. They were about to close too and the paperwork took forever. Oh and the car seats that were available were really gross.

Both Alamo and National are at the Dolphin and Car care center.

THis is way off topic...but I have to tell you...every time I see that horse, I want to tell you how majestic he is (she?). Very intelligent face. Just beautiful.

Thank you!!! He is a straight Egyptian Arabian Stallion. I fell in love with him at a horse expo and have a lot of pictures of him.

we were there in May and they had a sign up "all cars are reserved" they had none available all had been reserved..

I reserve to arrive at noon and arrived at 12:45. They told me they held it for a half hour and then gave it away. I had to wait about 45 minutes for them to get a new one from the CCC.

I've not found that to be the case. Most times I've rented the rates were exacrtly the same. But there were times when the Dolphin/CCC rates were less than MCO. It's best to check both if it doesn't matter where you pick up.

I think the rates probably depend on the car supply at each location. Sometimes it seems that if they think they will have more cars than they need at WDW, they lower the rates if you pick up there and return to MCO. Just a thought.

I also prefer the Dolphin, but you do have to watch the oeprating hours - it is not a 24 hour location!

Best wishes -
