Car Rentals...Extra Driver?

Hi, we need a car for two weeks in August. Primarily my dh will be the driver, but I will need to drive a few times. Does everyone charge for the additional driver? Thanks!

If you sign up for Alamo's Insider Club the additional driver fee is waived. It's free to join and another great benefit is the ability to pick up your car from a Kiosk instead of the rental agent, much quicker so you are off to WDW sooner.

Alamo Insiders or National's Emerald Club members both allow 1 additional driver at no charge. With Alamo, make sure you are logged into your account when making your reservation. It will show 1 additional driver on the reservation page before you book.
If I just use the reservation page and put in my insider info without actually being logged in, it doesn't give me the additional driver. National's EC is just automatic with the additional driver. Being spouse or business associate if travelling on business, plus you can just walk right out to garage and pick your car. mousesavers you can get link to join National's club for free.

He does not need to join to be extra driver. On National's website it states that both parties need to be present and to add driver either go to counter or via save time. (add additional driver info on your computer when you make reservation) If you do save time, then you pick out your car and give the exit gate attendant both driver's license, cc, & paper thats normally on the dash or hanging from rearview mirror.

They can add the extra driver at the exit booth, but, again, the additional driver needs to be present. If you use Save Time, the additional driver still needs to be present with license and cc.
