Car Rentals at LAX

I will be in Los Angeles for one day between flights and need a car for the day. I have check several sites online and have found the same thing everywhere, reviews of poor customer service, scams where you are charged double the quoted rate and hidden fees added and the like.
Does anyone have a recommendation for an agency that is professional and honest at LAX?

Just used Alamo and had no problems--was even able to pick which car we wanted-price was good-ressie thru Priceline
