Car-rental so very different rates !!

I´m about to give up....
from the beginning we planned to rent a car at the airport for altogether 22 days. Now I´ve changed plans and rebooked us to a WDW resort and will take a towncar from the airport instead. Now wanting to rent for 16 days it´s suddenly much more expensive !!! Incredible, if I pick up the car on the 16th of dec at the airport and return it on the 8th och jan, that will amount til about 700 dollars (for a SUV) and when I try to pick it up 6 days later somewhere in Orlando it suddenly amounts to 1200 dollars!!!??? Please somebody, what shall I do ?? Any good avdvice ?

I completely understand as we are going to be there from December 31 - January 16th. I would highly recommend that you check out www.mousesavers.com under "transportation to your disney resort" This is a great site for a ton of information. I personally used Alamo's new code on mousesavers and reserved a minivan for $489 (Jan 2-16) I could get a minivan from Dec 31, but the lowest rate I found for this date was $710 and I want to save the $$. Good luck and this board is great for info and where to find the info.

You might also consider a different type of car. An SUV is an expensive car to rent--one of the most expensive, in fact--and Florida never gets snow, so you don't need the four-wheel drive. The rates are out-of-sight this year. We are going down on Dec. 22 and haven't found rates for less than $50 per day. Last year I rented a minivan for 10 days at Christmas--I walked up to the counter, and said Give me something to drive--and I paid $540 including taxes and insurance, and I thought THAT was outrageous until I tried to reserve something this year. Ouch!!
