Hello, we will be flying into Sanford for our first time. I'm looking for advice on rental cars / discount codes. We need a car from 9/7 - 9/14. Will be getting in after 9pm on the 7th. Hoping to find a good deal! Thanks for any advice you can give me!

I booked a full size car in Sanford for $ 95 a week with Dollar with their City Special. No special code needed. Give it a try.

Go to carrentalsavers.com

Book something and check several times a day, often later at night rates drop dramatically. I'm down to $136 taxes included for a ford Fusion. Right now I see a convertible mustang for $150. My kid would love that but it won't hold all our luggage. You don't pay when you book, you pay when you pick it up so you're free to cancel and make changes whenever you want.

Which company were you looking at? I've never seen a convertible for that low! That would be fun and it's only my husband and I this trip, it could totally work!

Of course this week prices have been sky high every time I check. At least I already booked a midsize with Dollar for $120 total for the week (thanks to the tip on looking at the Dollar city specials), but I keep checking hoping for a better deal or a cooler vehicle!

A midsiize using Costco ID 7014627 and Coupon AF4469SDU for a free day is $191 inc taxes. Signup for Insiders (free) and get a free upgrade to a fullsize.

I'm seeing a convertible for for our 9/27-10/04 week for $136/wk + taxes $185 total using 10% discount code DC3190 through Advantage.
On further checking, this is the prepaid rate (although I doubt that you will get a convertible for less since other companies are up over $500 for this time period)
Pay later (cancellable rate) is $225 taxes incl.
The other downside is that Advantage is not in the terminal at MCO, there is a shuttle that takes about 5 minutes.
I'm very tempted myself, currently have a midsize booked with Alamo for $144, $41 more lets me put the top down. Now as long as there are no hurricanes while we are in the area, the convertible would be great for soaking up the Florida sun.

Unfortunately I don't see the same good rate for my week, 9/7 - 9/14, but I'm flying into SFB (Sanford) not MCO, so I'm sure that makes a difference too. Thanks for the info though!

Ouch! It's definitely the airport, when I change my search from MCO to SFB price jumps from $185 to $399
(sorry I saw Sanford in the title but my brain was thinking MCO, guess cause that's where were flying into this time)

Alamo seems to be the cheapest at the moment if you are a Costco member
"Costco ID 7014627 and Coupon AF4469SDU for a free day" per Webworms post earlier.
Enter these codes on alamo.com
You didn't say what size vehicle you were looking for, current prices are:
compact $185 incl taxes
Midsize $191
Standard $197
Fullsize $202

Book now and check back frequently, cancel and rebook when prices drop (and they will, usually right up until departure day)
