Car Rental Return Process, how much time? (MCO)

How much time should I allow us to return our rental car @ MCO (tentatively w/ Enterprise)???

Need to make it thru the airport check-in (baggage), security, etc w/ 2 small kids. Don't want to have to rush.

Does the return process take minutes, half hour??? I'm sure it varies but, I just need some guidance, worse case. Never dealt with a rental while traveling before!

We have a 11am flight.

We usually check our luggage curbside before returning the car. It saves from dragging the luggage from the return garage or shuttle.:car I think you would be safe returning at 9am.

I've never rented from Enterprise at the airport but with the others it's very, very quick. You drive in and they have staff that take the car from you and give you a receipt. It's really only as long as it takes to get yourself unloaded from the car. I agree that planning to be at the airport for 9am will be fine.

I am a person who wants to be entering the doors of an airport 2 hours before my flight.

So we make our plans to be returning our car at MCO 3 hours before.

Having almost missed a plane once (and by all rights we should have missed it...just dumb luck that the flight had been delayed and hadn't even boarded 5 minutes before scheduled departure), we KNOW that it's far better to be bored for too long at the airport rather than have to RUN through the airport with a child (let alone two like you have)!

I'll agree with that....I tend to err on the side of being way to early. I think that arriving at the airport 3 hrs before flight time is a little bit too much though.....2.5hrs would work for me. Especially if you have checked in online ahead of time and can go directly to the security check. If you need to checkin and drop bags at the airport I might be inclined to arrive at MCO 3hrs before the flight.
