Car rental rates for Dec 26th thru Jan 2

Has anyone found any decent rates for this time period. I usually don't have any trouble booking a low rate this far out but NOT this year. I tried Dollar with the Kiss code but it won't give me the rate. I have also tried most of the major rental agencies at the Orlando airport and so far nothing. I am looking for a minivan. Thanks

1. It's early. Better rates tend to come within 60 days.

2. You are going the busiest week of the year at Disney. Supply and demand...rental car rates will be higher than any other time of year.


I have an early December rate for a minivan of $260 from Alamo for a week. Not bad, but I think I can do better the closer we get. Most people are reporting that this year, rates are higher when they first start looking. But a lot of people are reporting rate drops even the week before they leave.

With all respect to OP if you wait 60 days out to get a minivan, you will be out of luck.

We go every year rental car rates are high as this is PEAK week of the year. Book something and keep looking. I booked back in Feb for 12/22-1/1 full size for 350 with all taxes.

I have a full-size at National Emerald Aisle for $299 w/ tax from Dec. 27-Jan. 7. I used the AMEX code 5125601 with the Big Ten two car upgrade coupon #10009416. You can get the coupon at www.rentalcodes.com It can't be used for a mini-van but if you book a compact, the coupon will upgrade you to a full-size.

I suggest getting the best rate you can and reserve NOW. You can always cancel if you later decide you just aren't going to pay it.

Continue to check for better rates. For most times you will be able to get a better rate when you get closer. But Dec 26-Jan 2 is very likely to be an exception, expecially within 60 days. There's a good chance it will only get worse. In particular when reservations approach capacity, rates skyrocket and they don't come down again.
