Car rental rates for August?

Does anybody have any decent rates for August? I will need the car for 5 or 6 days and we need to rent it in Orlando and drop it in Tampa. Does anybody know when do car rental codes for August normally come out? Thanks for any help.

Go to mousesavers.com and to the section that says transportation. There are codes there for rental cars, plus much more info to help you out. I first reserved a car for 8/21-8/31 through dollar, but then national came out with a cheaper rate so I switched. You need to keep chacking, but mousesavers usually has up-to-date codes listed.

Just an update. Using a different code from what I had I now have a car from National for $125.00. Thanks again, Hulabird!!!!

I saved alot using the contract code for Carlson Wagonlit that is posted on Mousesavers under National.

I also saved because my sister is renting a minivan, so the day we arrive at MCO, we will ride with her to the resort and just keep one vehicle for the night (there are 3 adults and 3 kids) and the next day we will go over to the Dolphin to pick up our car, then on the 30th (the day before we go home) we will drop our car back at the Dolphin and then ride back to the airport the next day with my sister. This cuts two whole days off our rental. My DH HAS to have a car in WDW otherwise we would have just split the cost of the minivan with my sister.

So our total cost is $179.00 and some change for a compact car.

For our July 31- Aug 7 trip I got a full size (Tauras, maybe) for just under $150 using code from Costco. I have a membership but the code is listed on their website and I don't know if you have to show your membership card when renting or not.

Now I'm flying into the Kissimmee airport on a private plane. We'll just use the FBO's crew car to take us to the Budget office (on 192 I think) so that may be cheaper than at MCO.

Maybe, I'll try that National code if I can find it.
