Car Rental Questions

We are on the 7day eastern June 12-19th. We fly in to orlando on the 11th--and rent a car to drive to the Radisson where we are staying the night before the cruise. Here's my big question.
Do ya'll return your rental car before you embark--just so it isn't sitting in a parking lot while you are away--and you are being charged for a week's rental? While parking is included in our Radisson reservation--why pay for a rental car when you can not drive it for those 7 days? We return on the 19th--but don't fly home till Monday the 21st---so we will need to RE-RENT a car upon disembarkation on the 19th. Is it too much of a hassle?
How have you handled it? Thanks!!!

As you will see lots of posters will rent a car, one way, and drop it off at the port. AVIS and Budget have one way rentals and shuttle to take you to the port. Of course you can always drop off the day before and catch the Radisson shuttle to the port.

At then end you can catch the shuttle to the car rental to pick up you car.

We tried a rental car once and got an an awesome rate from Budget via Hotwire. Hotwire is the best I've found for one-way rentals. We only took it one way and then took Happy Limo back. It was very convenient to pick up at MCO and drop off at the Budget office on A1A in Cocoa. There is a gas station right before the car rental place so you can return it full. We only waited a couple of minutes for the shuttle. All in all, smooth sailing (pun instended ).
