Car Rental question

I've decided to rent a car for the six days we're staying at the HRH in a couple of weeks, rather than paying for a transportation service each way from the airport. Also, to take advantage of grocery/package store shopping for some necessities! I'm also planning on going to WDW on the 6th day since we purchased only the 5-day pass for Universal (although that 6th day is Saturday and there is Mardi Gras at night!)

My question is...what car rental agency have you had the best luck with? Which one to avoid? I read somewhere on this site about an agency that frequently runs out of cars at midday and you're stuck with what they have left on the lot. And I know Hertz isn't onsite at the Airport.

Can't wait for our 1st trip to Universal!
Thanks for all your help. :love2:

if you want someone to answer. I myself would use budget, Sign up for fast break and rent at the airport. I have a rental from may 22-29 and its only 126 with tax.

My favorite is National. But I also like Alamo and Dollar and people have had success with Budget.

They are all onsite.

Check out the transportation board for more advice and help!

I always go budget.... heard horror stories about L & M
Check to make sure they dont charge you extra for spouse driving car also.

True they can stick you with another car....
but i always reserve smaller vehicle then I need...
I've ended up with minivan and a suv once....
Never ended up with smaller than what I needed...

Thanks all, esp Kimberly and Latenthart, I decided to go with Budget. Got the same $99 rate for a Taurus. I'm actually going around the same time - 4/18 to 4/24! And I did sign up for Fastbreak too.
