Car Rental Question

Since I got such great info from you very knowledgeable Dis'ers before, I was wondering if you could help. Our trip to WDW is an anniversary gift to me from my DH (18 years!). He's a wonderful man and I wanted to do something special for him. I was able to get a great rate on a Ford Mustang (his dream car) and was wondering if there was a way they could not tell him what kind of car we were renting until we got to the garage? I wanted to surprise him by just walking up to the car. We are going through Hertz. Btw, if anyone is interested, AirTran has some great car rental deals through June right now, in case you are looking for a good deal. I was able to get the car for $205 for 8 days. Anyone know if this can be done? We've never rented a car before, so I am not sure of the process.

I don't know if they can guarantee a specific car model.

Right, you may want to call the rental agency prior to pickup to make sure you will have what you want. I reserved a Mustang in California last year. There were none left when I arrived and I ended up with a Gran Prix.

Thanks so much for the advice! As I said before, I have never rented a car, so when it said "mustang" I assumed that is what we would get. I guess I should find out first before I am the one getting the "surprise" and not my DH. Thanks again for your help.

At Orlando you can specify the type of car you want with Hertz beforehand. I would call them up and have them put in the reservation that you want a Mustang. Hertz has quite a few Mustangs at MCO. If you are a member of AAA they also offer great discounts at Hertz.

Hertz guarantees the make and model of the vehicle. Make sure to choose the "Ford Mustang - FUN collection" on their site.
