Has anyone ever used Fox Rent A Car at LAX?? Thank you in advance for any feedback/comments.

Sorry, haven't rented a car out of LAX. But, I can tell you that none of the rental cars are onsite. You will have to take a shuttle to the rental lot.

You might not get much of a response. It seems like most people choose to use the shuttle or bus rther then fight the CA traffic in a rental car. A lot of people also fly in to SNA, rather then LAX, so that really cuts down on how many people could help you as well. Add in that you are looking for a specific car rental company and then you really dont have much of a pool of people to ask.

YOu might try doing a google search and see if anyone has any complaints posted any where on the web.

I do however suggest you rent out of the airport. Yes, it may be easier, BUT airport taxes are just insane... its like 10-20% more...

I dont know what type of car you are renting, but usually Enterprise are the cheapiest... if you want to take a chance, look up the Enterprise rates, then go to priceline, put in the price around $5-7 lower than the day rate, and snipe a deal... it always works... i got my dad like $14 per day car rental at Newport News, Va when the regular rates are $20-$25 per day.

I haven't tried Fox, but learned that "you get what you pay for" is definitely true when it comes to car rentals. We used Dollar out of LAX last time. Waited more than 30 minutes for a Dollar shuttle to come and take us to their building. (Watching literally 10 Hertz & National shuttles go by while waiting!) (None of the car rental companies has a counter or lot right at the airport -- you ride a shuttle several blocks (or more) away.) When we got to the Dollar counter, the line was a mile long -- and only one person working behind it. The return shuttle to the airport from their building was also very lengthy on the day we left.

Never used Fox but I have used Avis at LAX. I currently have a reservation with Thrifty for February. I have found the best deals to be on Priceline by naming your own price. Fairly easy to hop on the shuttle at the airport and they take you to the car rental lot.

I just returned and used Hertz. They were great . The shuttle had just passed when we we're coming out of baggage claim and there literally was one coming right behind it that we got on. There were 3 people in line with 2 agents working and they got someone else ASAP. I used Avis last time and waited in line for more than an hour at the counter after waiting 15 min for a shuttle. The traffic wasn't bad driving since it was moving even if only at 25 MPH at times. Here we stop dead and don't move.

Thanks everyone! I'm going to stick with Fox for now as I can't find anything even close to the $15 a day I got with them. I tried Priceline but all of my offers were rejected (I bid up to $21 a day for an economy/compact car) so I gave up on them.

If I end up using Fox, I will definitely report my experience when I get back!

Just back from our LA trip and we used Fox car rental. I am very pleased with our experience and would book them again. The shuttle buses at the airport were easy to find and came within 2 minutes of us walking up to the stop. The rental lot is just a few blocks from the airport (less than a 3 minute drive). Check-in was a breeze, we were upgraded for free (didn't expect any upgrades when only paying $15 a day to start with!) and we were able to have 2 drivers at no additional charge. They didn't hassle you about insurance coverage and were very friendly. Our car was parked inside a garage and exiting was a breeze. The shuttle bus from the car lot to the airport was fast and efficient as was the return process.

I give Fox car rental an A+++.

Thanks so much for your review! It really helps everyone to hear first-hand experiences. :)

Glad it worked out for you.

I am contemplating renting a car, and will be checking prices. I am curious to know what type of car you got with them. Thanks.

Anyone ever use Enterprise out of LAX? I am doing some price comparison, and it seems if Enterprise is the best rate for 5 Days for a Standard Car (seats 5). I was quoted $110 including the taxes. However I would like to know about the shuttle service from LAX to the rental desk. Thank you!

PS: I went to Priceline and the Fox rental website, and still found that Enterprise was cheapest. Even slightly cheaper if you have an Entertainment Book Coupon than the Priceline quote for Enterprise.

We originally had 2 door compact reserved but got a 4 door Ford focus for the same price which was great because the gas mileage was awesome! Fox had every type of vehicle from cheap to fancy parked in their garage. Their customer service was very good. When we found our car and got in it we noticed a lovely bird present on the windshield. Before we could find the wipers/washer fluid, an employee rushed over and hand washed it for us.

We are getting a Full Size car that seats 5. With tax it came to around $120. This was the best deal we could find.
