Car rental locations in anaheim

After calculating the shuttle costs to Anaheim and reading mixed reviews, I am considering two one way car rentals for our family of 5. We are staying 5 days, but are not leaving the resort, so have no need for a car except to get us there! *We are also flying in and out of two different airports, so the cost of a rental for the duration goes up. *Can anyone advise on the ease of reaching the rental car locations? *Will they pick you up?

The easiest option is Alamo, which has a location right in Downtown Disney. That's where I'd start.

That said, you may find the one-way drop-off fees are prohibitive.

We used Hertz out of the Marriot right down the street from DL.
one tip I learned (unfortunately AFTER our trip) was if you aren't doing a pre-paid rental, then continue to check the website as your dates get closer - you might be able to get a lower rate on a new reservation and cancel the old one.

One other thought - have you considered a private car? We are doing DKlivery for our upcoming trip, our rate is $155 round trip from SNA. Or possibly the DL Express through the greyline. Just trying to provide other options to renting the car.

What airports are you flying into/out of?

There's a Dollar rent a car in the Anaheim Plaza on Harbor at Disney Way. The only problem is you have to cross the esplanade from the resort hotels, so 1 person would have to do a drop off and then return it and walk back.

We used the Hertz at Marriott Convention Center as well. No problems at all.

We are flying into LGB and out of LAX. We are considering a private car service, but with the 5passengers, it bumps the price up. I found 55 dollar one way rates for the rentals (with a different drop off location). That beats the shuttles (even DL express), and is half the rate of the private service (we require an suv). Thanks for responses!

Most rental car places will pick you up & you drop off. I would look at rates on kayak.com & carrentals.com & see what the better price is & then call that specific company to see if the drop off/pick up. This is where I have found the best rates. I've looked at costco.com & also applied my AAA discount & they were still cheaper.

There is an Enterprise at Katella and Clementine. Right next to The Cheese Cake Factory in the Garden Walk. This is about 1 block East of Harbor.

Anyhow... Having not been there, I can't personally vouch for the location, but I'm hoping its convenient enough.

There are taxi vans available at each airport.....tell the dispatcher you need a van. Flat rate from LGB to DLR area is $45. (more expensive to LAX, though.....PrimeTime should be more reasonable for that)

We've used a Taxi several times. The Yellow Cab Co. has a contract with Disney and we found the "Flat Rate" very reasonable. We were able to get a Taxi MiniVan for 6 of us plus luggage.

The rate for SNA to Disney was $45. LAX would be a little more.

Just tell the driver you want the flat rate to Disney and you'll be fine.

I think it would be much easier than rental cars.

We have our reserved through Alamo as well. I will definitely check back when we're a bit closer to check on price. Great call!
