I will be renting a car for a road trip to WDW. My auto insurance covers a rental car so I am good. My sister will be a 2nd driver. Valid drivers license adult. She does not have full coverage auto insurance. When renting the car what extra rental insurance should I purchase from the rental car company to cover her driving. I don't want to rely on the company to tell me what I need because even though I have coverage they always try to bully me into extra coverage at the desk.

I would call your insurance company and ask what there policy is.

Most rental car places only have 1 policy and it covers what ever happens.

Depending on cost of the car company policy I take it even when mine covers me because if something happens I don't have to involve my insurance company.

The thing that the company's coverage offers that our car insurance policies don't generally cover is the money the company loses out on while that car is being repaired.

Not sure if that really answers your question, but it does show a gap in what Allstate, etc, covers vs what they'll be charging if we harm one of their vehicles.

thank you both. I will check further with the rental company. Just wanted to make sure my sister purchase's the correct coverage for herself.
