Have a flight into Sanford in May, arrive around noon so car rental is not a problem. The outbound flight is at 8:00 and it seems that Dollar does not open their counter until 8:00 and they will not let you just drop off the car. So who to rent from?
By the way got a great rate on the flight $39 one way.

So does National and I know that they have a drop off box there.

Thanks, I finally did what I should have done in the first place, call the dollar counter directly not e-mail corproate. The guy was very nice and said the lots were open 24/7 and not to worry. So I'm good!

Where are you flying from in TN? I am thinking about a short trip with just myself and DS in May also and saw that Chattanooga was $39 one way while Knoxville was $79 (same dates). I was just nervous about the car rental issue. Have you ever rented a car before? Sorry to butt in on your question, just had to say HI to a fellow TN disney lover! :)

We're leaving this Sunday and just got a great rate on a full size SUV $33.95. Compact was $19.95 thru Alamo with their last minute deals.

FYI...as I had been checking and the best rate I could find was $29.95 on a compact thru Thrifty and hadn't even considered an SUV, until I saw the price difference on how low they were thru Alamo's last minute specials.

Since we drive a Ford Expedition, it will be nice to not have to squish while on vacation, and drive what we're used to driving.

Hi Julieh22! I live in Harriman just about 35 miles from Knoxville. Always nice to see another Disney lover so close.
We are flying out of Chattanooga because of the $39 rate to Stanford. You can go from Knoxville to Clearwater for $39, but decided to go out of Chatt. because I would rather drive the two hours on roads I know better. For us it just made since to fly from Chattanooga and not pay the extra $40 per ticket. The flights from Chattanooga leave at 10:15 so we will not have to leave home in the middle of the night to get there.
I have a reservation for a car right now, but will be looking for a better deal closer to leaving. We will not leave until May 17 so there is plent of time to find a deal on a car.

I am living in Knoxville right now, but was raised in Oak Ridge and all of my family live in the kingston/harrimen area. My grandfather's nursing home is in Rockwood. That's so cool! :yay:
