car rental from Disney to Port

Hello: We are booked on a Disney Cruise and just decided to add a few days on at WDW before the cruise. Could we rent a car from the onsite car center but return it at the port? A one day rental will probably be cheaper then the bus and this way we can stop at a grocery store.

I was about to say, no, you can't do that if you're picking up from the Car Care center at Disney, because there is no Alamo or National agency at the port (that I know of). However, the second link suggested above suggests that you can drop off a National rental at Enterprise near the port. I suggest you look into that and make sure you can do that.

I know many rent from MCO and drop at the port (and reverse), and I'd also encourage you to check that out. There's a chance it could be less expensive, even though more days.

(Actually, what we found less expensive than all of this was just renting MCO to MCO and pay for parking at the port. One other benefit of doing this is we were able to stash things in the car, such as dirty laundry, from the WDW portion of our trip so we didn't have to bring it all on the ship, where space can be an issue)

Yes you can drop your Alamo car off at the Enterprise location. Here is the information from the Alamo website

Your rental will be serviced through Enterprise our Drive Alliance partner. Proceed to the Enterprise counter to obtain your Alamo rental agreement and vehicle keys.


To pick up your rental car, please proceed to the "Customer Waiting Area". As you disembark you will see signs posted to direct you. Any of the Port Canaveral porters will also gladly point you in the right direction. You will be picked up by an Enterprise Rent-A-Car shuttle bus. Our shuttles are white with a green and black logo. There will also be an Alamo/National and Virgin Holidays logo on the outside of the bus. The Enterprise shuttle bus runs every 15 minutes while your cruise ship is in port.
