Car Rental for January $$

I need some help. I need to rent a minivan in January for 17 days and the best prices that I am coming up with is $1100+. I have used a ton of codes and nothing is working! Am I just too early and need to wait or is there something I dont know out there? I was looking for $199/wk deals and they are not there. Any one with codes out there? Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Thx much in advance.

Hi, did you check mousesavers.com for codes?

If you can't find a good code, I would wait till end of Dec. and then do hotwire or priceline for the van.

Hercamore, Thank you. I did check mousesavers, costco, RCI and as many as I could get my hands on. I do have reservations for $600 ($749 w/taxes) for the 16 days. We are leaving on Dec 31 .. so, I will take your advice and wait until early Dec and try Priceline. Hopefully more codes will be out soon.

xlstacey- After reading through some of the posts yesterday, I found out that you can rent cars through www.southwest.com The rates seem pretty reasonable!

Thank you Teresa I did also call Costco and their new travel booklet comes out in November ... so they should have some new rate codes then. Okay, this is off the subject, but how do you all get those neat things by your name (pic of dalmation) and the countdown w/your signature?? Is it pretty complicated? Thx much

Go up to "User CP" at the top

Then click on "edit options" This is where you can put in your preferences and add the little picture .

To get the signature countdown, go to:

Copy the generated script and paste it in your "edit profile" section inside the "signature" box.

It really is easy! Believe me, I couldn't do it if it weren't, lol!
