I do want a car this trip, but the cost is far too much (includes the $25 a day because I'm 24).

So I was thinking of hiring one for a few days so we can go to Universal/IOA/Seaworld/I-drive/Kissimmee etc

But I have no idea where the pick up places are. I'm staying at POP. Where is the nearest car place and how do I get to and from POP to get there?

Thanks!

If you use Alamo they are at the Disney Car Care Centre near MK. You can call them the day before to arrange for them to pick you up from your resort and take you there. They will also take you back to the resort when you drop the car off.

Alamo are also at the Dolphin so you could get there easily from DHS/Epcot/Boardwalk.

Otherwise, Dollar are at the Regal Sun Resort across the road from DTD.

Have you looked at USrentacar, they do a young drivers policy for £100 for 2 weeks, you have to take gold cover which includes tank of gas.
2 weeks rental including young driver policy and gold cover starts from £374 total.

If you left it until you were out there to rent I would expect around $100/day for similar car. Its far cheaper in UK.

We learned this lesson when we first ever went,we got slapped with a $25 a day plus tax which worked out around $500.:rolleyes1
Now we just take out the full platinum insurance and never had any problems this is with Dollar.
I definitely would sort it out before you go,like Wayne said.:thumbsup2

Yeah I've looked there, and that's what I mean. I can't justify paying almost £400 for 2 weeks. :S

But it wouldn't be as bad for a few days, as I'll have to get taxis to all the places I mentioned, so it'd probably cost the same amount for a few days.

To rent out there 4 or 5 days rental will cost an under 25 as much as 14 days rental prebooking in UK.

If you definitely don't want to go for the 14 day option I would prebook the days you do want if at all possible, 5 days prebooked in UK will cost £187, out there will cost about double that. OK if you know when you are going offsite before you go.
