car rental discounts

I read on mouse savers that you can get a costco discount and I got the rate id and promo # and looked up Alamo. Indeed they have a good discount. My question (and I hope someone out there knows), do you have to show a card at the car rental for the actual discount?? Is having the rate id and promo # good enough?? I do not have a current membership with Costco.

You will need the Costco member card. They are cracking down on this big time, mainly because the codes etc are so readily available on the net and many non members use them.
