Car Rental Cost Goes up a Bunch When I Add Wednesday???

So I am pricing a car for an upcoming trip to see my family. The total cost (w/ taxes and fees) for Thurs-Mon is $107 but the cost for Wed-Mon is $195. Why is it so much more for one day? I guess I am wondering if there is something I should be aware of with Wednesday rentals - LOL - or if it is just my particular time frame.....

Most business rentals tend to be Monday to Thursday. So the companies are after weekend travelers for utilization so the cars are not just sitting around. If you are looking to return on Tuesday or pick up Wednesday you are now using a car that could be rented to a business traveler.

It is because you are probably getting a weekend rate with the Thursday through Monday. Once you add in Wednesday it goes back to full daily price.

Is this a local rental or one on your trip?? If this is a local rental and you really need it from Wed to Monday than make it a week long and look for a coupon code.
