Car Radios, Neighbors, and YOU!

I have heard bass from a house a street over at midnight every Saturday night for two years. (That's in my house with all doors and windows closed)

Guess what that makes me do? Turn up the Rush a little louder when I pass their house!

I'm sure my immediate neighbors complain about my music during the summer, but at least it's good old fashioned rock n' roll coming from my backyard and not offensive rap lyrics. There's nothing quite like a frosty drink, my pool float, and some Grateful Dead on a hot July day!

Not only do I turn my music down when I'm coming into my neighborhood to pull into my driveway, I turn my music down when I'm at a stoplight and the windows are open. I hate hearing other people's music when I'm "trapped" at a light like that so I don't do it to other people.

But that's probably just me - I'm considerate that way. Can't control others but I can control myself.

I do the same thing. I hate being at a stop light and someone music is so loud it shakes me car. I would never have my music so loud that it would bother my neighbors.

One of my proudest moments was a couple years ago. I was at a stoplight with my windows down and the 1812 Overture was playing on my CD player. Well this guy pulls up with his ghetto blasting bass and smoking a blunt...you could so tell what it was. Well the music had just gotten to the good part...cannons and churchbells...so I turned my volume up as loud as I could. The first cannon went off and he jumped and dropped his blunt.

The light turned green and I drove off laughing.
