This is probably the stupidest question ever, but I have never stayed at FW before, and i'm a bit confused.

We are staying in a cabin, and I thought I read where there is a parking spot at the cabin. But I also read where no cars are allowed in the resort. Is this just the Campsite loops and the roads to the pool, restaurants, etc? We have a 1 yr old, and are renting a car. We were planning on driving to most of the parks just for the convenience of not having to wait on buses.

You may have your car at your cabin, no problem. When you travel to either of the trading posts, restaurant, or pool, you must take the bus (or golfcart or walk) as these locations do not have parking for cars. The bus stops are fairly close to all of these locations, as well as the cabins themselves. Driving to the parks is quicker than waiting on the buses. Enjoy your stay! And, you have a beautiful baby:)

Ditto.

the internal bus system is fairly easy to get around the Fort .Once you arrive, just ask them to explain the travel system to you, it's easy.

Ya'll are SOOOO gonna love the Fort. and if you are so inclined , we here on the camp boards LOVE travel reports and pictures ,specially first time Fort dwellers, :woohoo:

Hava great time !

you have a beautiful baby.

Just an FYI - some bus drivers make you break down the stroller. If you have two, big one for parks and umbrella stroller for short trips makes life a little easier. is the kiddo still in pumkin seat? that may negate all of the above.

If that is the case a back pack carrier is nice to have. We took ours, used it alot but never in the park as we had the stroller.

If you decide to use the bus, I have a stroller suggestion for you. See if you can find a used McLaren stroller on craigslist or buy a new one on sale. We found one on sale at Babies R Us for $99 several years ago. It might seem pricey for a baby stroller but they fold down really easy. You can literally hold your baby and fold the stroller down at the same time. It's handle is taller than the usual umbrella strollers. Mine had a strap so you could swing it over your shoulder when it was folded down. I loved that stroller. We lived in NJ at the time and it worked great on public transit when we went into NYC! I found that it was easier to push than the big "it comes with carseat" stroller. I only wish I had found this stroller when my kids were younger...it would have save me a lot of stroller grief.

The only downside, storage. It does come with some but you will need to pack more carefully. Oh, and mine didn't come with cup holder but I think you could buy one!

Thanks, everyone. I was googling this last night and some yahoo had blogged that my car was allowed at the cabin for unloading only, and I thought, do I have to move it when I'm done?!? I knew that wasn't right, and knew you guys would know.

Thanks for the stroller suggestions...I have a jeep impulse sport stroller that is very compact, but has full-size features. It has a freestanding one hand fold, and I LOVE it, I had bought a Maclaren and returned it because this stroller beat it, hands down. We have a backpack carrier, so I'll bring that, too.

We never rive to the parks, always using the busses and/or boats/monorails. Maybe a bit slower at times, but a part of the Disney experience. And you really need an Auburn shirt for the little girl to bring her up right.:thumbsup2
