Car Planning....

haha, okay. I swear to gosh I would not lie to any of you.
I'm being truthful, you don't have to belive me, but this is the brand-new
car that my dad bought for me when I turn sixteen. I've always wanted this
car, and this is the same exact color & everything. I love this car. But I have 1 year until I can start driving it so, we only drive it on cruises right now.

yeahh, my dad got it all souped up. I like my car. That's all I wanted.
Why would he buy you a really expensive car, if you don't even know how to drive yet?

Personally, I'm driving a '92 Buick with two missing hubcaps and a broken gas meter, and that's perfect for me right now.

When you've just gotten your license, you shouldn't have to worry about a new car. Merve (that's my car's name :upsidedow) is great for me right now, and really practical.
Instead of wasting money on a new car, I'm saving for college instead.

HAHAHAHAHA.

It's nice to know I'm not the only one who names cars! My little red Subaru is named "Serenity the Little Red Subaru That Could", or just 'Renity for short. I'm a big fan of the (now cancelled) sci-fi show "Firefly" and the main ship in the show/movie was named 'Serenity' and it was kinda falling apart and didn't always run perfect, but she was home and comfortable and sentimentally valuable, so it just fit really well with what my car is (9 years old, 215k miles, rusting out in spots, starts hard on really cold [I'm talking -40F] days, and almost always needs work, but she's mine and she'll be mine until she literally won't run anymore).

I drive a 2003 Oldsmobile Alero. My parents bought it used a few months ago. I think in Aug. I was 16 at the time and had my license since May.

I agree with everyone else and go for a used car. I think a new car at 16 is too out of reach. Plus, you can find used cars of the ones you want. And in my opinion, my used car runs great. I never thought it would run this good. It runs like a new car.

Completely! A car's not really your's until you name it.
And Merve's naming process is a little bit less wholesome.
His passenger side door can be locked so that you can open it from the outside but not the inside (I have NO idea why) but basically he ended up being called the Date-Rape Mobile because of that little feature. That then got changed to Merve because it was decided that Merve is a skeevy old man name.
And partly because I was tired of the weird looks I would get when people overheard me talking about my adventures in the Date-Rape Mobile. Hahaha

But I love him. Bunches and bunches.
And he's got much more character than some brand new perfect car.

It wasn't "outragiously" expensive. Also actually it is my dad's car that he bought for the whole family as a cruise car. It wasn't ever mean't to be givin to me. He decided recently that he was going to make it my car. I mean, I really didn't wan't it, because I knew it was a nice car, but I guess that he decided to talk to my mom & they had a talk, so they just pretty much said," here's your car."
if you know where I'm comming from. I kinda thought the same thing.

Hm, interesting. You're really lucky. Unless, of course, you have to pay the insurance and that'll be massively expensive.
