Car parked at TTC; Monorail to Epcot?

I'll be at MK during the day tomorrow, parked at TTC with my private vehicle. MK closes at 6 pm and there is a ticketed event until midnight. I want to meet my husband at Epcot in the American Pavilion for Eat to the Beat in the evening.

I was thinking of taking the monorail from MK to Epcot. I can't remember - do I have to go back to the TTC from MK to get this monorail, or do I catch it near the MK entrance?

Once I'm done at Epcot near Epcot's closing time (9'ish), will I be able to monorail back to MK / TTC to pick up my car since MK will be closed to regular guests, although open for a special event?

Is this a dumb idea and am I better off just driving to Epcot (time wise)? Usually when we go to Eat to the Beat, we actually park at Studios and walk through the Boardwalk to the International Gateway, so that is also an option - that I drive from MK to Studios and either walk or Skyline to Epcot. Studios is where my husband would be parked so we would be able to walk back to our respective vehicles together at the end of the evening.

Which makes more sense in terms of how much time it will take to get from MK to Epcot, and in ease of departure at the end of the evening?

The monorail to Epcot leaves from the TTC, so if you're coming from the Magic Kingdom, you'd take the monorail to TTC and then change to the Epcot line.

If there's an event at the Magic Kingdom in the evening, the monorail to TTC from Epcot should still be running. (It may run for an hour or so after Epcot closes anyhow.)

I do not know which of your options would be fastest, since I rarely have a car on property and rarely take the monorail from Epcot to the TTC.

From the MK, you can catch the Express monorail to the TTC and change there to the Epcot monorail. (The Resort monorail goes to TTC as well, but stops at CR first.) Or you can ride the ferry to TTC and then catch the Epcot monorail.

Personally, we’d probably drive our car from TTC to either Epcot or DHS. Getting from Epcot to your car at the end of the evening will be much quicker that way. Since your husband will park at DHS as well, that’s where I’d park too.

Thanks! I'm also thinking that moving the car from TTC to HS (or Epcot) once I'm done at MK would be best.

Just in case my husband would drop me off at MK in the afternoon so I can monorail over to meet him later at Epcot (then we only have one car and go home together), can he drop me off at the front of MK (near the CR, for example), or does he have to drop me off at the TTC?

He will have to drop you off at the TTC. The MK resorts do not allow drop offs if you are not staying there or don’t have a dining reservation.

I know for the resort monorail you can get off at TTC, walk down a ramp(/stairs?), walk under the express monorail track, and walk back up a ramp(/stairs?) and you’re at the Epcot monorail easily, without having to go out into the elements and then back in.

How’s it work with the express monorail? I can’t recall since I’ve never taken it with the purpose of getting on the Epcot line.

IIRC there is a crossover from the express line to the Epcot line that doesn’t even require you to go down a ramp.

We were at WDW on Monday and went to MK in the morning and then went to Epcot in the afternoon. We wanted to go to the concert, and other stuff. We parked at the MK parking lot and took the monorail to Epcot instead of moving the car to the Epcot parking lot. It actually worked out well to do it this way. :)

We were afraid that if we moved the car to Epcot's parking lot that we would have to park at the back of the lot. By parking at MK's lot we only had to take the parking lot shuttles once instead of twice. I feel that we saved at least 45 minutes by doing this, since the shuttle experience is not quick. :) And the MK shuttles shouldn't be crowded on a party night until later in the evening.
