Car or Bus to the Parks?

Over the years we have learned that we enjoy to drive to every park except MK. I refuse to take the boat over to MK. But for everything else we just drive over and we can leave without waiting for the bus.

I've driven down and had a car and flown down and not had one. The only times having a car is preferrable is for PS's at another resort or for going to one of the waterparks. Everything else I'd rather let Disney do the driving. Late night I'm tired and happy to have someone else taking me back to the resort!

I say drive. Especially with a 3 yr old. We only used Disney transportation once (taking a boat from POR to DD) and we had to wait at least an hour each way to get on the boat. So just imagine if you had to stand there with a tired, hot 3 yr old for an hour just to get on a bus.

We used the buses many years ago. We were not crazy about it. 2 years ago we rented a car and loved it. One of the posters suggested driving all but to MK because then you have to take the monorail or the boat. We personally like to drive to all - including MK because the monorail and boat adds to the excitement for us!

This is just a personal preference. We like the ablility to come and go as we please without relying on busing that may or may not be there ASAP. Plus we always add Sea World to our agenda.

No matter what, you'll have a great time!

23 more days!!!!

We have only been to DW once. We went from 5/21-5/28. We used the bus system the whole time we were there and we loved it. Very convenient and we really had no problems. The only time we had to wait awhile was the last night we were at the MK, there was a huge downpour, so everyone was leaving the park at the same time. Then we had to wait for the 3rd or 4th bus (can't remember) to get back to our resort. This was great fun for our kids too. They don't get to ride buses, so this was fun for them.

Driving your car is fine for all Parks except MK! When you drive to MK, once you leave the parking lot then you must then take either the Monorail or Ferry to MK. This will add some time and it's a bit of a hassle.
I suggest use Disney transportation to MK, this will leave you close to the front gate.

I agree!

We usually take the busses, but for our upcoming trip, I think we are going to rent a van. We will be @ Disney in September during the free dining staying at POP and I know that the place is going to be a zoo.
I really do not like POPs bus service, every bus is ALWAYS packed!!! At last years MNSSHP, we were staying at CSR, but we looked over to the POP bus line and it was through all the bars and going out past the All Stars line, and this was already past midnight!!! :sad2: The people in that line easily has over an hour wait to get back to POP.
I just think there is more convenience in driving to the parks. Mainly, because you dont have to waste a good 30-45 min of your morning waiting for a bus, and when you want to go back to the resort you can just hop in your car and go.
Now, I dont know about the All Stars bus service as I have never stayed there, but they do share busses among all 3 all star resorts, so IMO I dont see much of a difference between their service and POPs.

Wow! Such good thoughts on both sides! I just love you all. And to everyone in Alabama, HIYA NEIGHBORS!!! LOL

Good advice....I think we will play it by ear. We might try it both ways and see how well Matthew does. We plan on taking a stroller, but I am so not sure if he is going to use it yet. He can go and go all day, but this is going to be quite different than a normal play day. Thanks everyone. I think driving will probably work better so if we do not need the stroller we can put it in the van. :) I can't wait!!!
