My car blew a spark plug. Loud noise. Scary! Had to be towed.

Garage says $1300 to repair

Will my car insurance cover any of that

Not repairs, but you may have a towing option in your policy..

Yep, that is wishful thinking.

Sorry. I hate car repair bills. I hate them so much that I'm thinking of trading in our car that just came out of warranty. I'd rather make a car payment that pay a repair bill.

We had that happened once, sounded like a machine gun.
But the mechanic replaced it and that was it. Did other stuff get damaged?

Car insurance is for accidents and theft, not repairs.

Is the car still under warranty?

If so, it should be fixed at the dealer at no charge.

I bought a new car this year. On my car insurance I am paying GEICO $35 every six months for "mechanical breakdown insurance" which will cover the car for any out of warranty repairs with a $250 deductible per incident. Of course I tend to keep cars forever; this is only the 5th car I have had since 1964 and I average about 170,000 miles per car.

depending on your coverage they might pay for your towing.. I know mine did when my engine blew up (due to someone putting something in my gas tank, thankfully since it was vandalism State Farm paid the bill.. I love State Farm!).
