Hi everyone tried to amend alamo booking because car has to be back by noon when our flight is in the evening .Alamo told us just redo the booking and change the time and no way will you be charged well yes they did try to charge again but we stopped the transaction .Then my bank rang to see why I would pay twice for the same thing and was it me .Alamo insisted this doesn't happened and only backed down when I told them my bank had rung me .Apart from amending the booking when we get there is there anyone out there who knows what else we can do Thanks:dance3::coffee:
 
I don't understand why they would say that you wouldn't be charged if you made an additional booking :confused3 Have you booked your car direct with Alamo? Presumably you didn't realise that car rental is done on a 24-hour period, therefore if you return the car after the time that you pick it up, you will be charged another day's rental. That is how all rental car companies operate. Are you arriving early on your first day, to collect the car? The way we get around it is we book the car from, say, 5pm on the first day to 4.30pm on the last day. Even if we've been an hour or so late returning it, we have never been charged extra.

I would call them again and ask if they can manually adjust the booking over the phone and just charge you the extra. Either that or cancel your original booking and rebook.
 
Did you book direct with Alamo? If so you can just amend online. You just need your alamo ref number and surname i believe.

We have amended ours a few times for thia upcoming trip with no problems. :)

Tried this kept trying to take money again and yes we did book direct with alamo .As I said even my bank rang about unusual activity because the same amount was being taken twice .Cant understand that pick up time is 5 yet drop of time 12 noon .This in itself is unusual as others have said ' Pick up at 5 drop of at 5 .Think I'm going to have to talk to a person :cool1:

The pick up is 5 yet the return time is 12 noon and when we emailed we were told to cancel and re book .but as I've said usually if you pick up at 5 you drop off at 5 .Im sure we'll be able to do it there fingers crossed just would have liked it sorted :banana:
 
Doubt it helps in this scenario much but when our flight was delayed virgin told us at Dtd check in that your have two hours grace returning the hire car
