Has anyone used Priceline for car hire, do the bids you make include CDW etc. Many thanks

I haven't used priceline but the thing that for most people is
How hard or difficult is it to drive?

Let me reasure you and this is no bull if you can dive in the U.K you can dive in the U.S.A
I have been to Orlando 5 times and after 15 mins you will be thinking what was I worried about , just think how many thousands hire cars every year it is easy so just chill and don't worry

i was really worried about having to drive when we went in september esp as i've never even driven abroad before

but it's a piece of cake and within 15 or 20 mins you'll get used to it

honest !!

Hi All,
I have taken the plunge and booked the car with floridacarhire.com.
I have been searching all afternoon and they was by far the best price. We booked a full size car for 13 days, we are picking it up DTD as I did not want to drive after the long flights.
Price for full size £348.
I hope you are right about the driving, I have no problem in uk . I drive to work on the motorways each day and driving around Manchester town center is not a problem. It is just sitting on the opposite side of the car and driving on the opposite side of the road!!!!How on earth do you turn left???
Many thanks for your help.

If the lights are on red you can turn left if it is clear ( or is it right i can`t remember)you will find that weird the first few times just take it easy and you will be driving like a local in no time. Find that the yanks are more courteous than the drivers around Manchester (try Worsley on to the M60)

Hi Rain,

Couple of pieces of advise for you. First of all, be aware that it's common practise for drivers to overtake on both sides, not just the outside lanes as in the UK. This can be a little disconcerting to begin with, but you'll get used to it.

Also, try to keep some quarters handy in the car for those toll booths on the way to/from the airport. If you can't get them before you set off, don't worry - just use the 'change available' lanes at the toll plaza.

When I first drove in Florida about 5 years ago I was as nervous as anything, so what you are feeling now is perfectly natural:D Just remember to take your time, drive within the speed limits, and keep calm - by day 2 or 3 you'll be a veteran!

Just like everyone says....it is very easy.

The cars are very comfortable, and because you are sitting on the left, it feels quite natural to drive on the right............kind of in reverse of back home.

And about those quarters.........first time ever in orlando....6 years ago......got kind of muddled at an unmanned Toll.......just off the plane, and ended up driving through without paying!!!!!!
I was terrified the rest of the holiay in case i got stopped by the Cops :o

I really appreciate the help you have all given, only three weeks to go now.
Paulh I drive the M60 every day to work!!! or sometimes crawl.
