i have all inclusive car package with thomson, however i want to upgrade to bigger car (people carrier). we have 3 adults 2 children traveling in party. any ideas to what prices i will get charged.

it varies and can depend on what time you arrive and the demand. If you are on the last flight in and they have cars available you will get a good deal as they are happy to make less commsission to get rid of the cars. Conversly if you go early in the day they will charge you more to upgrade as they have all day to get rid of them. Just barter as much as you can and don't take the first price they give you, remember the sales people are on commission and want to Upgrade you.

To be honest their website is very basic it doesn't really tell you alot. So I guess the best thing to do is give them a call and get a definite price, but looking at other tour operators it shouldn't be too much more perhaps about £70 a week. Just remember it may make the insurance for the car a little higher as well, about £18 a week.

Depends on what you are allocated to start off with, and whether you do it before you go or when you get there. There are as many people who get good deals on car hire as there are those that get ripped off.

People carriers are amongst the most expensive type of car to rent, one way of finding out the cost is to find out the car provider and look at their website and look at the difference in price between what you are allocated and what you want. This will bascially be what it should cost you. Or look at someone like Airline Network or Us Rent a Car for a comparison.

You could take a chance on getting a cheaper deal when you arrive, but down to whether you want to take the chance.

we have a mini van 7 seater booked for aug for £164.50 for a week which includes tank of fuel and extra drivers.I have always found that TAs charge a lot for there car hire,as we tend to do it indepently we book with a brooker. There are plenty about .Would say upgrade before you go as it will be cheaper than at the desk
Paulh

I'm trying to get a 7 seater for next week - cheapest I have been quoted so far is £185.50 - who are you booked through paulh?, if you don't mind me asking. Thanks

I would suggest that you try to upgrade before you go as it can work out a lot cheaper that at the car hire desk :moped:
