Car Hire Sanford

Hi,

I'm going to Orlando in a couple of weeks flying into Sanford. Couple of questions:

Are all the car hire desks in the same place. Which is best for getting out of the airport quick?

Currently I'm looking at booking a Minivan through AirlineNetwork. This is working out at £400 with everything included. Any other suggestions where I can look?

I rented a car seat when I went to Miami a couple of years ago and it was really tatty. Do you know if they let you hire at one location and drop the seat off the next day somewhere else. I was considering buying one at a Walmart or something like that? Also can anyone remember the rental rate for the seats?

It is a nice and fairly small airport. The car rental places are not totally together, but they are failry close and it tends to be a fairly quick move thoguh to the car.

Hiya,

I have heard people hire for the first day, buy at WalMart and then return the rental one. I have always been too lazy myself

I don't know if you can rent at one location and return at another though, I would be interested to hear of people's experiences.

When we rented a car seat 18 months ago it was $5 a day or so - it does add up!!

Thanks for the response. If it was any Dollar collection point fair enough, but I'm not going to waste the best part of a day tootling up to Sanford and back. Guess I'll have to rent for 14 days.

When comparing car hire quotes do make sure you're comparing like with like. One trick that some companies are doing at the moment is telling people that insurance is included because they include CDW/LDW only to then ask for an additional fee for UMP (Uninsured Motorist Protection). You need UMP because if an uninsured driver were to run into your hire car you would be liable for reimbursing the hire company for the loss of the vehicle if you had not taken UMP.
