Dodge Caliber, compact 4 door from Dollar. You need to be careful though as they don't all come with electric windows and central locking.

we had one of these a couple of years ago, i wouldn't recommend getting it if there is more than 2 of you as it is small especially at the end of the holiday with the extra luggage you take back

I would agree with you Netty. We have had one twice now and I think both years we have had to use the back seats to take our luggage to DTD.

when we had one in 2006 they had only just come out and were in the intermediate class then... soon went into economy with peoples complaints as to how small they were.
I did a thread on it in 2006 ...

Here is mine from Dec 08.

We booked a 4 door Economy thru USrentacar/Budget and got this.....

2 door Mustang.

Fine on the first day with just the two of us with two cases & two hand luggage....going to DTD check in on our last day with 4 cases & 3 hand luggage was a different story!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I can't do pictures for some reason, but we had a Chrysler, dh swears it was an HHR..looked like it had the chassis of a PT Cruiser but had a 'jeep' look about it.
We got ours through Alamo at Miami Airport. Were most surprised to be shown to a whole row of 'intermediate' cars and told to take our pick of whichever one we wanted. Felt really weird peeking around all of the cars and seeing what looked like it had the best luggage space, and then just getting in one and driving off! Is that the 'norm' for US Car Hire?
Anyways, we could fit 3 cases in the boot easily, our 3 hand luggage rucksacks sat nicely in the rear footwells and on the return journey to the airport we were able to squeeze the luggage mentioned above (with all 3 cases 'expanded' to the limit!) as well as 2 large and extremely full holdalls.

Hubby did all of the driving and said that on long straight roads like the turnpike it was lovely to be able to set it on cruise control and eat away at the miles, but driving in and around Orlando it was apparently 'like a brick' to drive. I have to admit that it was pretty bumpy and I found the road noise quite distracting after a while, I was constantly checking the windows to make sure they were all done up!

Having said that, it cost under $20 for a full tank of fuel and gave us aroudn 500 miles on a full tank, so can't and won't grumble! We had the car for 17 nights and drove from Miami to Orlando, all around Orlando and then back to Miami and spent less that $40 on fuel. That's got to be something right?

There's only a couple that do it that way. Others, like Dollar for example, just give you a specific car.

If it was an HHR it was a Chevy...
