Thought it might be fun to start a thread of car hire pictures, it could help people make informed choices re size and models, plus we could add any comments regarding issues we found whilst using them.
Plus i am lying in bed unable to sleep as my body is telling me it is only 6.30pm seeing as i only got back yesterday.

Anyway here is my Blue Chrysler Seebring 2 door from recent trip. Hired through Dollar at MCO (free upgrade from 2 door intermediate)

very nice car for 4 adults. Boot is large until the roof goes down, then hardly any space, when roof was up we could fit 2 large cases in and 2 carry on bags without using the back seat.

Chrysler PT cruiser which was ok for two of us and the full Virgin luggage allowance but I wouldn't reccomend it for a family of four.

we loved this car and have used it on a couple of trips now. It fits four people and you can just about cope with all the luggage back to the airport.;)

we had this Jeep Liberty last October as there was just the two of us.

I didn't really like driving around or sitting in it as you felt every bump in the road and constantly was jolted about.

We had this car for a family of four and had to put luggage between the kids on the back seat. We only got 2 suitcases in the boot.

We booked full size for 4 of us at Xmas. printed all paperwork at the desk then he went off, came back and said they had run out of full size so upgrading to 7 seater Dodge caravan. Later in holiday I looked at teh paperwork as he gave us the original he had printed, it was for a PT cruiser, I would not have been happy with that for full size, glad we got upgraded.

A few from past few trips, will try find more sometime.

I would guess you could fit 5 medium cases in. We had 3 medium cases and a large holdall, 3 laptops & a camera bag. plenty room for more.

Alamo 7 seater SUV premium, GMC Acadia ..... very nice interior, leather and built in DVD player. With all 7 seats up there was loads of passenger space but the trunk space was minimal - no way you could use this to transprt luggage and have the back row of seats up. With just the first row of seats up - therefore a 5 seater - the trunk space was HUUUUGE!

This is the Dodge Durango from 2007. Absolutely loved it! i wanted a Grand Cherokee but they couldn't find the one they had so offered me a Durango instead. I was disappointed so they said I could exchange it the next day at MCO.

I went looking for it in the parking lot and as soon as I saw it I fell in love with it. It is huge, really comfortable and we want another one when we return in December. Loads of room for people, and with the back seats down it has loads of room for luggage.

This was the Chrysler 300 we had. Didn't like this car really. It felt 'cheap' to drive and I found it difficult to see around the car as the windows are high, and couldn't judge the back and front. After 3 weeks of it I still had problems parking it.

It was huge, loads of room in the boot and the back seats but I wouldn't have another. Give me a Durango anytime!

there is one very good thing about this car - we had a Chrysler 3000 and were t-boned by a Ford Explorer at 60mph in 2007 ..... and it held up very well! Yes it was completely totalled and we did have injuries but in terms of how hard we got hit - it performed well under our crash testing!!:thumbsup2

We hired this Hummer H2 in 2006. Loads of luggage space, seating for seven, head rest DVD players, wireless headphones and loads of fun to drive. But the biggest plus was the look on my DS face when he walked out of the villa and saw it on the drive. Priceless.

This next one we found to be a little uncontrollable - almost as though it had a mind of its own!!!

This one we found a little difficult to park but noticed that, for some reason, other road users always gave way to us.

The next one didn't seem to have much luggage space due to the In Car Entertainment System, and we also noticed that once you got above 88mph things started to get a little 'hazy'. Can't remember when we hired this one but I do remember there being something of a 60's revival going on :confused3

The one below was a favourite of mine. Driving in the traffic jams towards Disney was never a problem - though luggage space was non existant and it took a couple of trips to get everyone to where you were going.

And finally this one made the list purley for its speed, handling and ability to navigate the crowded streets. A simple flick of a switch on the dashboard transformed this car and everyone instantly moved out of your way.

I am surprised that the rental company consider the Dodge a SUV its not even close??? Figure that one out if you can. I think this is a great thread as I am sure many of you have no clue what the car will be like when you reserve it!

We had a brand new Ford Edge for our April Orlando trip, which was great for 4 of us and our luggage. OH thought it was ok but the kids really loved it. They are hoping we get one when we go to California this year.

BTW that is the kids in the car - OH and I are substantially older!

Sorry, that should have been Mini SUV.:thumbsup2
It was like any estate car over here but it's got a 3 ltr. engine so has plenty of grunt.

This thread made me think about all the various cars we've had, so, I had a scan back through our photos to see what I could see. Got pictures of a lot of them, so here's our automotive journey...

Without a doubt the best thing we've had was the Navigator - simply awesome and HUGE, and out of the cars my preference would be the Town Car - a cut above the Chryslers IMHO. That having been said the SRX we had in November was alos very well appointed.
