Car Crashes Through Mall--Down Escalator--ON PURPOSE!

Apparantly the driver was a 19 year old trying to commit suicide. He did over $100K in damage--and that probably doens't count the lost business.

What a jerk. If you want to off yourself, that's a pretty stupid way of doing it.

BTW--He lived.

LOL you story reminds me of something that happened here at Campbell a few years ago. Some "kids" were driving around Thanksgiving night in their big truck bored, I'm guessing and saw a couple of deer a few feet from the road. Well being bored and in a big truck they decided to chase the deer and took off down the bank and found their behinds in trouble when the deer didn't run. It was set up deer by the Corp of Engineers to get people that were illegally hunting from their truck. So they were charged with illegal hunting(with a truck mind you), destroying gov't property(they ran over the fake deer) and speeding LOL(army is a bit anal about that). My husband just keep looking at the phone praying he wasn't about to get a call that they were his. It just takes all kinds, doesn't it?

I saw that on the news last night - at that time they did not know why the person did it. There is no way you would drive all that way in the mall if it were an accident. And to head right for the escalator??? So glad he did not hurt others!

Now they are saying he might have had a beef with the girl who works in the perfume kiosk right in front of the escalators, the one he went barrelling through, and might have been hoping to run her down. Fortunately she was already gone for the evening. When I saw the news this morning it looked like there was a huge puddle of perfume and hundreds of broken bottles. Can you imagine the smell??

Wow, that's really scary. My mom lives in Leesburg and sometimes shops at that mall.
