car at OKW?

We are thinking about staying at OKW and I want to know if you need a car at this resort. Will the disney transportation be enough or will there be alot of walking and waiting. Thanks, and any other info. on OKW will be great. Thanks so much

There are quite a few posts about OKW over on the DVC board.

We are renting a car... I've heard that it will come in handy at OKW. We are still going to take the bus to the parks everyday, but we'll probably drive to dinner.

We have done both, rented a car and relied on Disney Transportation. Having a car is nice when you need more groceries or want the flexibility to head to the beach or around Orlando or visiting other resorts for meals and such. We used the car to go to parks, but after the walk from the parking lot to the entrance, we have found it easier to just take the transportation, especially when doing MK.

I think it is a matter of personal preference; we honestly have not had much trouble with the buses at OKW although I have read of them on the DVC board.
