I need some ideas of how to capture some Disney magic for my 9 year old son. For our 10 year old daughter we are planning on doing BBB and picking a pearl at Epcot. What special things do you do with your boys to make a trip extra special?

Thanks,

My DS's idea of Disney heaven is a trip to DisneyQuest. Also by your countdown, will you be there for MNSSHP? I know that's for everyone, but it's something special. I understand where you're coming from, we have a boy and a girl, and my DS has tolerated many a princess meal! But he really doesn't mind, he's just happy to be at WDW. Maybe let him pick a character meal he'd enjoy, like LTT or Chef Mickey's. My DS also loves pin trading, the water parks, and all the cool stuff at Innoventions.

My son liked pin trading at that age and my girls never got into it. He also liked the Lego store at Downtown Disney and any store with pirate stuff. My other son liked the store at Norway because of the viking stuff.

1) Goofy's Candy Store in the Marketplace at Downtown Disney - ordering one of their "create your own" treats (my son always orders a rice crispy treat, dipped in white chocolate, covered in sprinkes and then finally drizzled in white chocolate). The Cast Members annouce your creation when it is ready and deliver it in a box with a certificate. 2) Once Upon a Toy - cramming all those Potato Head parts into the box - lots of boy stuff here (pirates etc) 3) Fake Tattoos - lots of stalls all over the place 4) Pin collecting - my little guy has a PIN BOARD in his room and we always get a few pins each visit (usually from attractions that were faves during the visit) 5) Virgin Megastore at Downtown Disney - with the 15% DVC Member discount we pick up some Disney DVDs and CDs (Disney Mania and Disney Radio) 6) Japanese Dept Store in World Showcase (I forget the name) - last time we were there my son got a great anime T Shirt (they have lots of Japanese aanimation stuff).

Also, isn't there a "Make Your Own Lightsaber" in the Lego store?
I haven't been yet, but was planning on checking it out this time.

It's my bribe for DS7 sitting through another princess meal with his lovely little sister!!!

This is the problem that DH and I are faced this next trip. We have 2 DS. DS7 and DS3 are going with us and I'm making them all sit through breakfast at CRT. Has anyone ever gone here with boys and if so, what about the things they do for them?

I know that I'm going to hear a lot about "why do we have to do all this princess stuff?" But I think deep down they might actually enjoy it. DS7 is starting to .......AAAAAAAAHHHH.....notice girls!! And DS3 will like the attention that he'll probably get from the 'pretty princesses'.

But I know they'll absolutely LOVE the build your own lightsaber. That's going to be their "special treat" during the trip. They're both really into Star Wars and I think that will rank right up there with meeting the Mouse himself!!;)

We're actually going to the princess dinners because of DS4. He's in love with Cinderella.

However, I assume it's the age, I can see an older boy getting annoyed.

If your DS is into Star Wars there's the shop near Star Tours and the Make Your Own Lightsaber at DTD.

I know my big boy(DH) is excited about the Lego store at DTD.

DS did a pirate cruise a couple of years ago at GF. It lasted about 1 hour and a half and they went to different spots on the seven seas lagoon. They were given some treasure and a mickey ear pirate hat. He still has everything from it. I think it was around $30 so the price is comparable to BBB. There is that leaves from Y&B club as well. I think it is called the albatross cruise.
The other think DS enjoys is to spend time at the Lego store at DTD.

How much does the build your own lightsaber activity cost? That would be awesome for my guys!!!
