Capt'n Jack's Restaurant

i have eaten there twice, once in 1988 and again in sept 2007.It was fantastic in 1988,good in 2007.We where there during free dining,so it was basically a non-stop display of twin lobster tails going to pretty much every table, but it was good .The best part of captn jacks is the location and the atmosphere.I would definitely do it again, maybe for lunch or an early dinner, just to sit back and relax a little away from the resorts and parks. It is a nice view of the water around dtd,and the food was not bad.

we went for lunch jan 07 and it was HORRIBLE> the place felt old adn dirty to me, the food was gross. my DH's shrimp pasta in lobster sauce tasted like it has congealed sititng under a heat lamp and he did not enjoy it. my pasta was "so so" as well. we didnt feel very "disney" whenw e were there, just kinda like an old fishhouse. ppl rave aboutt he lobster but that is nto on the lunch menu, which is the meal we ate there. never agian.

I'd agree with chimmie219. It's a good place to go to get away for a little while. We, too, went during free dining and enjoyed the lobster tails. And it's hard to beat a restaurant that is on the water- the view is very nice.

I reviewed it in my dining review (link below.) I didn't enjoy my pasta entree but my appy and dessert were yummy.

Lots of people don't like it but we really did when we went in Sept 07.
The crab cakes were absolutely delicious and we had a mixed drink called the Fuzzy Captain that was sooooo good. Beat the Lapu Lapu hands down.

We have eaten here 3 times.

Aug. 06 The food was excellant, service was awesome

Jan 07 The food was okay but they took the steak off the menu and replaced it with Pot Roast. Service was again awesome

Aug. 07 Again the food was okay (my son said his salmon was over done and very dry) but the service was not the best(waitress seemed like she did not want to be bothered with our orders). We had to ask a waitress from another table for refills of our drinks. The manager apoligized but as we were on the DDP there was not much he could do for us (his words).

Would I try it again? Maybe, after I have checked out some of the other resturants in "the world"

When we went in 2006, we all thought it was one of the best, if not THE best TS meals of our trip.

We went again in Oct. 2007 - and I can only say that it was 'off'. I just felt that the overall quality had gone down. It certainly wasn't horrible, but it was not close to our best meal, or to our wonderful memory of it.

That said, it totally could have been an off night.

We had a wonderful server, though. She made the experience really enjoyable, even if the food wasn't as fabulous as we remembered.
