So we are going to the Yacht Club in August and I would like to know what are the pros/cons of each restaurant.
We have been to Captain's Grille before and loved it, but I like the idea of a character breakfast.
TIA!:goodvibes

We've been to both multiple times, the latest being July 2009 for both. We like both and will eat at both on future visits. Here are the pros & cons between the two as I see them.

Cape May Cafe:
Pros - Characters (if you like them), more items to choose from on the buffet, more upbeat atmosphere.
Cons - Characters (if you don't like them), must eat from the buffet, more noise, more crowded, more expensive, harder to get a reservation at a late date.

Captain's Grille:
Pros - No characters (if you don't like them), less expensive, choice of buffet or menu order, less crowded, quieter, easier to get a reservation at a late date.
Cons - No characters (if you like them), fewer buffet items, less upbeat atmosphere.

Pros Cape May - Buffet with lox and bacon...... what else do you need to know?

Okay, okay so maybe that was a bit over stated. Captain's Grill is more reasonable, but I can do a lot of damage on a buffet and even though we don't care about characters, I like the control you have in a buffet over the experience.
