We have an ADR for dinner at Captain's Grille. I was looking at their menu on the official WDW site, particularly the 3-course menu where they don't allow substitutions. If you have ever gotten any of the following items at Captain's Grille, can you please tell me about them? Of course, and I'm sure I don't even have to mention this, pics are always welcome!! Thanks! Here's the list:

1. Crab cake appetizer
2. Pork chop entree with potatoes, apples and bacon (sounds so good!)
3. Market fish with ancient grains and vegetables (I know this changes, but how was it prepared and how was it?)
4. Key lime tart
5. Chocolate profiterole
6. Warm onion tart entree (I know this isn't on the 3-cours menu, but still thinking of getting it if I don't get the 3-course)

Anything else not on my list you would suggest (app, entree, or dessert)? By the way, we're not on a dining plan, just getting the TIW card and using that, so we could order anything we want! Thanks again! :goodvibes

DH has gotten the crab cakes several times and said they were very good. He also enjoyed the porkchop.

The chocolate dessert was good. I enjoyed the steak, and the potatoes were very good.

Enjjoy your meal.

I got the crab cake dinner and was not really thrilled. Had a lot of breading.

Sorry.

We ate at the Captain's Grille last week and both dh and I got the 3-course dinner. We will not return. It was a lot of money and not so good food. Just my opinion, of course. And, we were not on any dining plan. (Last December we had breakfast here and it was very good.)

Dh got the crab cake appetizer (1 crab cake) and it came with a salad on the side. Crab cakes are nothing really special. I had the crab cake entree (3 of the same crab cakes) and it came with a strange mix of arugula, very small potatoes IN the salad and loads of onions. I hate onions and the menu description said nothing about onions. I got the clam chowder appetizer that was ok. Dh got the pork chop entree and that was good.

We were mainly disappointed in dessert. They have a tray and show you the desserts before the meal. I should have known better. We both got the chocolate profiteroles and they were not like any profiterole I have ever had, they really didn't taste like anything and did not taste especially fresh to me. (Chefs de France has excellent profiterols - with ice cream and lots of great chocolate sauce.)

I dunno - maybe it was just us. Again, only my opinion.

P.S. On our next trip, we had the Captain's Grille booked for lunch because I wanted to try their lobster roll. But, we cancelled the ressie due to the above experience.
