Captain's Grille Breakfast - how long?

Wondering if anyone has done an early (7:30am) breakfast at Captain's Grille and just gotten the buffet. How long did it take? Basically, if we do everything "right" (get there early, eat fast, ask for check right away, etc) what is the earliest we could hope to be out the door by?

We want to make 9am RD at MK, and was originally thinking we needed breakfast earlier than 7:30, which means going over to Fresh Med at S/D (since they open earlier). But we're staying at YC, so CG would be MUCH easier. If it's even a possibility I might go for that instead.

Have you considered getting a quick service breakfast at The Marketplace in the Beach Club? You can take your food outside to sit, or inside, in the nearby solarium, then hop on the bus to Magic Kingdom from there. That's what we always do before heading to RD when we stay at the YC/BC. Service is very fast at The Marketplace in the mornings.
Captain's Grille will probably take about 45 minutes. Great food!

DH made me promise there wouldn't be any CS on this trip, otherwise I'd be fine with grabbing something from the Marketplace. (He asked for no CS last time, but I cheated with a couple of breakfasts. It didn't go well- he was starving again within an hour. The man eats a LOT, and he's skinny as a bean pole. It's totally unfair.)

We'll have to do room service on our emh mornings, so I hate to do that again. It doesn't leave a lot of options, unfortunately. I wish more TS places were open earlier.

It will really only take you as long as it take to eat, given that you can get the buffet with no wait. Just ask to have the check immediately, right after you order the buffet (which you can do the moment you are seated, basically), and pay right away. Then eat and walk out. Timing is in your hands.

We did breakfast there in January and didn't get the buffet (I had the lobster omelette. It was pretty good!), and were out of there in about 40 minutes. I'd imagine you would chop off 10 minutes with the buffet, not waiting for food.

I would follow bleeps advice. Go ahead and ask for the check once you order the buffet. You could expedite your meal even more if you paid cash.

Even if you order off the menu, I'd ask for your check right away. Saves time.

Thanks everyone, I think we are going to give it a try. Hopefully we can eat fast and have good luck with the buses, and still get there in time to see the opening show. If not, at least we'll have gotten about an extra 45 minutes of sleep
