OK, narrowing things down...need to get rid of one of these...Captain's Grill or Cape May? Which should we keep & which should we get rid of?

I am a fan of Captain's Grille. I have had several very good meals there in the last few years. But if you are more in the mind for seafood, Cape May would obviously be a better choice. Also, Cape May can get very crowded at times (and loud as a result), whereas Captain's Grille does not, if that matters in your decision.

We ate at Captain's Grille a couple of weeks ago and will never go back. Food was blah, service was terrible, atmosphere non-existent.

I would only do Cape May IF you are on the dining plan. I think our bill was like $130 with tip for a family of 4 which was way too much for the quality of food they have on their dinner buffet. The real damper was it took them over 30 minutes to refill the ketchup on the buffet (and we notified everyone we could) and everything my my kids had on their plate was fried. They cannot eat their chk tenders and fries without ketchup.

Thats a tough one cuz we like them both but DH loves the Clam Bake for the littleneck clams and if you go on Thur or Fri night they have fried talapia with housemade tartar sauce that knocks my socks off. Tons of great food and desserts too!

The only experience I had with Cape May was for breakfast and I was not impressed with it. As for Captains Grille, that was a pleasant surprise for us. We stayed at the YC in January and for our first night we wanted to just relax that evening and stay close. We ate at the Captains Grille and loved it. Unlike a pp(not saying they didn't experience what they say) we found it to be good food, excellent service, and while there was not a themed atmospher it was quiet and relaxing.

Another vote for Captain's Grille. Went in December 08 and my daughter is still talking about it. Been a few times to Cape May and the last time we went was terrible. Food was lukewarm to cold and we went early. DH said the clams were gritty.

We'll probably go back to Captain's Grille in October.

We've had lunch at the Captain's Grill and dinner at Cape May and have enjoyed both. We'll be back there again in June.
