I am seriously condsidering a Capt. Nautica excursion from St. Thomas (1/2 day), but am concerned about the age minimum. On the DCL web they advertise 8 as being the minimum for their "speed" boat snorkel tours. We have a 6 y.o and 8 y.o. I have read that 5-6 y.o's have been on these excursions before. What's the deal? Should I just go for it and not worry that they will deny us?

Thanks, DIS NURSE from Oregon :flower:

Funny, but I was just on their website yesterday through a link from this board (the link was for the doubloon sail, and then I clicked on to other cruise line trips and found the Capt. Nautica site). I'd rather contact them first and make sure, rather than go and have some disappointed kids. Five may be too young for their regulations, but you never know until you ask. Use the keyword "Captain Nautica + St. Thomas" and you should get to their site and from what I remember, you can e-mail them directly, even if you end up booking it through Disney. Good luck! Since DCL's age is 8 and up, no one under the age of 8 will be able to book through DCL. They set these age limits for insurance purposes. Also, I think I have read that Capt. Nautica WON'T allow any DCL passenger to book through then directly since they don't want to upset their contract with DCL. You can contact them and see if they will be running another trip that day, they might allow you to book on that one through them. You will have to book directly with Capt. Nautica to get your 6YO on the trip, DCL won't allow it.
