Trying to firm up a reservation with Capt. Marvin's for 6 adults, 6 young teens and a 7 year old. The group has left the decision to me and I'm having a hard time deciding between the 1/2 day Excursion 10:00 - 1:00 p.m. (Stingray City sandbar, snorkel at Coral Gardens and Barrier Reef) or their Short Excursion 11:15 - 1:15 p.m.(Stingray City sandbar and snorkel at Barrier Reef or Coral Gardens). They also offer the Short Excursion from 8:30 - 10:30 a.m, but I'm concerned that we may not have enough time to get everyone on the tender and over to the location by the 8:00 check-in time. Any reviews, help, or suggestions on either excursion would be most appreciated. Thanks.

we did that one last year and it was great -- the 3 hours really flies by. I think that the 8:30 one would be pushing it.

We just did the 8:30 short excursion just last week and had no problems. We took the first tender out of the ship. There was a slight delay with Disney in that the tender didn't leave until 7:45 am, but we made it ashore by 7:55 am and took the short walk to Captain Marvin's office and was there by 8:00 am. Their shuttle didn't actually leave until about 8:30 am. We did StingRay City and Coral Gardens, and got back by about 11:15 am.

We went on the short excursion with Capt. Marvins in April. I wish we had done the 1/2 day because we had such a great time. Getting on the tender really was not a problem it gets to land pretty quickly. the walk to Capt. Marvins is about 10 min from the pier, if that long, it is pretty close. The Capt. marvins crew was great. Swimmimg with the stingrays was definetely an experience. The snorkle part was really amazing the water is so clear you see so many beautiful fish. Whatever you decide you will have a great time.

We did the short excursion through Captain Marvin's this past August and had an awesom experience. It was *very* short though and we will probably opt for a longer excursion the next time we book. One thing to remember, the time-frames given on the website include travel to and from the reef and Stingray City.

definitely do the 3 hour tour (lol, are you hearing the music?). The time goes really fast, the experience is incredible and you'll never regret it.

With your size group, you may have most of the boat. You could e-mail with them (Ruth is EXCELLENT) and tell her you're going to take the first tender and might be running a few minutes after 8 - I think you should be fine as others have said; they don't leave to the minute.

We did the 10-1 and it was wonderful!

Is this a Disney excursion or is it a book it yourself excursion? Could someone please post the website if there is one available? Thanks a bunch

Is it possible to do this and the turtle farm? I was hoping to do the 10- 2 snorkel. How far from the ship is the turtle farm and what transportation is available?

Thanks
Carla
