when I was there I did not see IHOP, did this take the place of captain kidds? we liked that place when we went the last time.

Both restaurants were there on our last trip...... we avoid Captain Kidd's....ate there once & it was nasty. They were handing out coupons at the pedestrian crossing & we politely declined them.

avoid it its gross im glad i read these forums first so not to go there

Thanks, I was there a few years back and we did have a good meal, but then again it may have been hit and miss  Thank you, I will avoid!!!

YUK!!!! It's still there, it's right across the crosswalk, IHOP is a little to the right of the crosswalk. I avoid both, CK is disgustingly nasty, never again will we go there. IHOP is waaaaaaayyyy overpriced so we don't go there either. For us it's either Mimi's, Millie's or the Denny's that's down to the right.

Last time I was there, we stayed one night at the Best Western which included a free breakfast at Captain Kidds. It was pretty bad...I think I had juice and an English muffin.

Still there, but the health department should close it. BAD

the only way they get any one is with the coupons. we took one an read it an said "to bad weve heard the place stinks" an tossed it in the trash right in front the guy. sorry but with so many bad reviews i wont chance it not on my vacation. an Ihop well DH wanted to go but after telling him how much they charged you guys he crossed it off the list

captain kidds....what kind of food do they serve? we are in south dakota so we don't have this here.

It's generic family food. If it wasn't in a tourist area it would have closed years ago, but it gets a constant stream of unsuspecting people walking by. It honestly looks okay from the outside, but I've never heard anything positive about it. We went for the free breakfast when we stayed at the Best Western Park Place in and I've never had food that was that stale.

Seriously, after all of us talking about how disgusting it is why would you even ask? Why chance it? I can tell you that DBF had the buffet and he hardly ate anything. I had a salad and I ate the cheese, a couple of cucumbers that were OK and the croutons, that was about it. The lettuce was wilted and see thru, I said something to the server, he looked at, shrugged and walked away. That was it, no offering to comp it, no bringing me another, nothing. Grotesque!! If we are walking and we hear anyone talking about Capt Kidd's we are quick to steer them in another direction.

Yeah Captain Kids is not in anyway all that great. Its pretty nasty. There is a reason they stand out side giving away free meals. They cant give it away.

Captain Kidd's! :scared1:

It's a great place to eat...if you like petrified chicken nuggets & a salad bar that looks to have been stocked via dumpster diving!

A previous poster said that the place would be out of business if it weren't in a tourist area...so true!

if i were you guys id pay the 5dollers for mc'ds even tho i was mad at them for messing up but id eat there instead capt kids. its not just ppl here ive heard from. even ppl at the hotel told us not to go there. its just bad i wouldn't want you or your family sick because you went there

Oh how sad that they are still open. I got all excited when I read the title of this thread and thought maybe something decent would finally be in that space!:lmao:

There's a Mimi's about 2 blocks away if IHOP is too busy in the mornings. It's right across from HoJo.

The service was slow the Thursday morning when we went but we left enough time for a sit-down meal so it wasn't a big deal.

The food was yummy though. I had the potato pancakes and DB had the pancake meal.

Total bill ~$22 for both of us.
