Any reviews of this restaraunt? We are not Planet Hollywood fans and this is our only option on the day we are at DD. Is there some great restaurant close to DD that we should try instead? We are just planing on doing Disney Quest one night so I don't suppose we need to eat dinner at DD. Maybe a resort restraunt close to there? We are on the DP so I guess our choices are limited.

Any suggestions or reviews of Captain Jacks?

Thanks!

You will get mixed reviews on Cap'n Jack's as well as my favorite, Fulton's Crab House. According to the Passporter Guide to WDW (I just bought the 2006 version yesterday) the "readers rating" for Cap'n Jacks was 6 and Fulton's was 8.

I like the atmosphere of Fulton's (being a replica of an old riverboat) and the selection. Go to allears.net and check out the menus and decide which you would like better from the choices!

Fulton's is more $$$ but worth it. I just wasn't as impressed with Cap'n Jacks.

Good luck!

Yes, we also enjoy Fultons quite a bit, as well as Cap'n Jacks. As a side note, Capn' Jacks is the last of the original Disney restaurants at DTD. Over the years, they have either moved, {Chef Mickey's} or eliminated all of the Disney operated restaurants, including The Empress Lilly, as you well know, which is now Fultons.
Capn' Jacks has some great crab dishes and is in a pretty cool setting. You won't go wrong with either, but Fultons is a bit more expensive, unless you go at lunchtime. Go to www.allearsnet.com to check out the menus.

I think Captain Jacks is just plain nasty. Why don't you eat at Earl of Sandwhich. The food there is very good.

We have been there twice, will go back. Both times we though the food was good.

What was nasty? The food, the restaurant, service? Could you give me a little more info. We like the menu choices but it the food is yucky, we will change our mind. We are going to do the Earl at some point and we might just do it that evening. Thanks for the suggestion!

The food was nasty. I had the seafood alfredo and couldn't finish it. It just tasted bad. My mother couldn't finish her's either. As a fellow Marylander who I'm sure knows their seafood I advise you not to go. It seems that the ones that like that place are landlocked! LOL!

I have heard that the new restraunt Raglan road is really good. I am going in March and I have it on my list.

Had dinner at Capt Jack's on Thursday (2/2/06); great BBQ ribs and Capt's specialty drink was wonderful. We've eaten there several times; food is good, not great, but price is right and location is good, especially when taking the boat from POFQ. Relaxing and fast service without being too expensive. Fulton's is excellent, but spendy; we just didn't feel like spending $100 for dinner that night, so Capt Jack's was our choice. Fulton's takes ADR's but Capt Jack's does not take any reservations; we had to call Disney Dining twice and DTD Info once to find this out. It's amazes me that Capt Jack's is part of DDE and Disney Dining didn't even know that they don't take ressies.

Thanks, All! I appreciate the advice. Not sure what we will do now as we leave in 24 hours :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Have you considered House of Blues? We really enjoyed it last year when we were there!

I need a dining plan restaurant and I don't think House of Blues is there. I would have tried that one because I think my DH would have loved that.

Has anyone done Wolfgang pucks? That looks like it is on the dining plan. Also Raglan Road is on there, but the menu looks a little too - no american. Is it really good?
