I am still searching for some table service meals for my family of four. My boys are 9 and 11. Can anyone tell me if they would enjoy either of these places? We go in Jan. and I am just assuming we can get the reservations for both still. Is the Spirit of Aloha worth the time it takes away from the parks?

Something in my brain tells me Spirit of Aloha is not open in January (Jan/Feb) due to cold temps at night.

I could be wrong, but check it out. Might help with decision making!

My brain failer (surprise, surprise)

But...it is closed for a week!

Captain Jack's is a food court, it won't help if you are looking for a Table Service! We have booked the SOA show in February. I hope it is worth it. :goodvibes

We ate at Capt'n Jacks in 2005 and it wasn't a food court then. It was very similar to a Red Lobster (just a tad bit nicer). We sat in the back at the bar and it looks over the DTD lake. The food was good and DH loved his lobster. I had ribs and thought they were pretty good.

my husband & I ate at Cap'n Jacks in June. The service was great and the food was really good (lobster on the DDP!) but it's nothing you can't get anywhere else, like a Red Lobster. We had a window seat and had an amazing view of the water. The menu was sorta limited, I guess it depends on how your kids eat whether or not they would enjoy it.

Am I confused? I thought Captain Jack's was the food court at the Poly?!

of Captain Cook's. Cap'n Jacks is in DTD

Cap'n Jacks gets consistently bad reviews. Their one 'saving grace' was the lobster on the menu (for a 1 credit TS on the DDP), but they removed that from the menu last month.

We did both when DD & DS were 8. They loved The Spirit of Aloha, and enjoyed Captain Jacks also (we had seats by the window) but really dont care to go back to Captain Jacks. It was a lot like a place we eat at the Jersey Shore. Been there done that.

We were disappointed with the changes to Cap'n Jack's menu, so we are going to try the new T-Rex restaurant instead. How about that? I'm sure your boys would like to see the dinosaurs - if they're into that! The only downside is they don't take ressies.

Do your boys enjoy watching people dance? If so they might like SoA. But honestly it is long, the story is weak and the food is just ok. For $50 pp you could do a lot better somewhere else.

We ate at Capt Jacks in Aug and really like it. I wouldn't say it was food court. Aloha is okay in my opinion.

for taking lobster off the menu is amazing. Lobster is selling for about the same price as bologna in Maine.
