Captain Jack Sparrow's Pirate Tutorial closing at the end of the month

How is it that I missed the reduced attendance the last 4 years on our Food&Wine trips? Coudda fooled me!

Food and Wine doesn’t account for all 4 parks. It’s also the end of the fiscal year so they need to make the bottom line better.

They are my joint favourite thing( with TOT ) at HS! I love Paige Turner, Evie Starlight, Betty Fumble and Chloe! We will usually grab a beer about 11 and sit opposite where Starring Rolls used to be and just wait for them coming out, they are just hilarious!

I'm confused about this "declining attendance" thing. I'm not a Disney veteran by any means, but it seems like everyone is reporting that there are no off season times anymore, and a "2" now does not mean what at "2" attendance day meant 5 or 10 years ago.

I think the more likely culprit is all the damn building they're doing all at once, and maybe don't have the capital to pay for. Star Wars land, Tron coaster, and the stupid Gondola. I mean, do we really need a freaking Gondola? Just add some more busses, and you'd move just as many people, but with air conditioning.

Sad to see Disney cutting the streetmosphere people. It's the shows and informal entertainment that go a long way towards making Disney more than just another amusement park. I don't go to Disney for the coasters - I've got Six Flags right here ($55 for a season pass including water park). I can't imagine those few performers added THAT much to Disney's bottom line, but they add so much to the parks.

On the plus side, that area won't be insanely crowded anymore during the tutorial times. I would try and avoid it but somehow I always found myself over there trying to get through the crowds when it was going on.

Paige is one of them that is leaving.

The Fall numbers have been down from expectations.

How about Mimi Kaboom? She's so darn funny. They ALL are!!!! One of the best things about the Studios.
Mimi is safe for now. Dorma Nesmond, Paige Turner, Dara Vamp, and Officer Prime Brody were the ones cut this go around.

This series of pictures is from 2004. My daughter , Natalie and I had a great dad/daughter trip for her 24 birthday.

As we were leaving the park after a long day, having to finish getting set to
leave, for the airport, we came upon the wonderful Streetmosphere folks.
They are hilarious, one of my most favorite attractions at MGM. This guy
was having a ball with the little kid.

And she had everybody literally in stitches.

Among them, Natalie.

The young lady in the white shorts was cracking up so much, she was a show in
herself. This 15 minutes of Streetmosphere was probably the highlight of
the day.

Natalie, and I also, thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

I understand September numbers have been down but I am surprised they are cutting all of these things in October because I keep reading about what a busy month it has become.

I have no idea how much September numbers are down, but I wonder if some of that is people shifting to other months. I also hear October is a very busy month. And apparently there really is no "off" season anymore. If numbers are down, what are they doing to get paying bodies in the parks and in their resorts? Because raising prices on everything isn't the way to get more people to visit.

Of course, some of this might just be people getting priced out of Disney, and cutting back, either because they really can't afford it or because they simply refuse to pay Disney's increasing prices.

I don't know. I've never run a theme park. But I do know that people have loved the parks for nearly 50 years, and they've loved them without a gondola and without multiple new rides appearing every year. I understand the need to add and innovate, but it seems like maybe Disney has too many big expensive projects going on at one time. Is it a stockholder issue? Like they need to show a profit, even when they're undertaking multiple capital improvements? For example, the Rivera DVC will eventually pay for itself, but they need to get it finished to start selling the shares, and until then, they're in the red.

Maybe I'm way off base, but it seems like with the millions and millions of dollars they're spending on these big projects, the salaries of a few performers is just a drop in the bucket. I'd rather have the streetmosphere people and Capt Jack than a gondola or even the Tron coaster (okay, maybe I kinda do like the idea of the Tron coaster, but I'd be fine waiting a few years for it to happen).
