Captain Jack Sparrow back in DL?

Waiting on hold to DL yesterday I thought it said that Captain Jack was back in the park? Wasn't listening too closely--that snippet just caught my attention--and some of the info seemed to be talking about Walt Disney World not just DL.
Anyone seen Captain Jack recently?

We were just talking to a CM today (she feeds the ducks!) who was lamenting the loss of Jack Sparrow...so if he's coming back, I reckon it's news to her.

Doesn't he normally appear at the Halloween party, though?

My family goes to Kauai when ever we can ( not this year) and I just received an email from a place we've stayed in Poipu and the real Capt. Jack will be on Kauai filming the new Pirates movie for the summer!
Normally we'd be getting ready to go to Kauai right now and it's such a small island it wouldn't be out of the question to run into him. Drat this economy!

They've been in Hawaii filming the 4th and 5th Pirates movies for months now. My family owns a tour boat company on Kauai and they have been chartering our boats to do filming on the Napali coast.

I am a bit confused. A fifth pirate movie? I thought there were plans for a 4 th production only?
I can only hope that the next movie is better in comparison to AWE. That story line so disappointed me, and to no certain end!

Wow! How exciting. Can ask which tour boat company? We've done a couple Na Pali tours and they have been amazing. The Na Pali tours we've done have been some of the best experiences of our lives. At least in the top 10 anyway...

I don't see them bringing back Jack to the parks for good (as much as we all would love that to be the case). Just the MHP. But could it be possible that the recording was referring to his appearances on the POTC ride? That seems like the logical conclusion to me, even though that addition was a few years ago.

They probably have. But since Depp has been in Venice pretty much all spring filming a movie with Angelina Jolie, doesn't sound like "Jack" has been in Hawaii while other crew members might have been.


While DS really enjoyed "Jack", and his two meetings with him were wonderful and we'd love to have him back because of that, I really cannot understand the obsession with the CMs that *play* Jack. The two we've met have NOT been "all that", even if they do play Jack fabulously.

Hey, here is a good tip if you are ever back in Kauai and want to do a tour. What you should do is call the tour companies direct and ask for a discount. If you book a tour (any kind of tour not just boat) through the concierge at the hotel or through an agent, the tour company has to kick back 30%-40% of the cost of the tour to the agent. If you call directly and ask the company would more likely be able to extend you a 20%-25% discount since they don't have to pay any kick backs. Tour companies love people who book direct!!!

So I came on to add my support for Captain Jack to be put back on the island for me to drool over this summer - but I just wanted to say I did a tour with you guys in 2008! We had a blast, you did a great job and I have a million photos from the trip. It was probably one of the most fun things we did on our trip! We'll be back in Kauai next year and we'll definitely come back to see you!

But back to Jack - he needs to be reinstated! We went to DL in 2007 and only had a day at the park but one of my stand out memorites was meeting Captain Jack! My DH had to drag me away and made a point of telling me we would NOT be seeing him again this time around!

Thank you for the tip. I've heard great things about your boats, but we always stay in the south during the summer because my husband surfs and that's where the waves are during the summer. All my vacations revolve around " swell ". Now that DD is getting older our vacations won't be taken in the summer as much so maybe I can get a North Shore trip in soon. Believe will be back to Kauai for sure, very soon I hope.
