I keep seeing photos of people with Capt. Jack from the cruises as I read various posts. Where do you meet him? When? Is he on the ship or CC? Any information you can give me would be greatly appreciated! It will give my DH more to tease me about as he says this is the reason I'm all for the cruise!

He is out for photos on Pirate Night and then again at Castaway Cay with the Flying Dutchman in the background. Check the Navigator on those days for exact times.

We were at the Pirate and Princess party last year at MK and the line to meet him was well over an hour long! What is it like on the cruise and cc?

The line will be long but it will move fairly quickly. Again, check your Navigator for his appearance times. Get there 10-15 minutes early, if possible, to be among the first in line, particularly on Castaway Cay where the line tends to be longer.

Actually on our last cruise, my Mom was complaining that there were two many Shutters photos of the kids with Captain Jack and not enough spontaneous ones like on our previous cruise. We found the line on the ship to be quite short, but didn't even try at Castaway Cay due to excursions.

:offtopic: Sorry, a bit off-topic here, but does the Capt. Jack on the ship ever talk to anyone? My kids took pictures with him and my ds8 asked him a few questions, but he only sort of shook his head and shrugged and wouldn't answer him. Does he talk normally? My ds is a little hard to understand, so it could be that Jack just couldn't understand the questions. But I can't say as I heard him talking to anyone else. At the time I assumed he wasn't really supposed to "chat" with the passengers. Did he talk to anyone? :confused3 It seemed a little odd to have a "face character" who wouldn't chat with the kids. Though I understand that Jack quite a bit different than most disney characters! :rotfl:

Thanks for the info! That's great. We'll just check the navigators...and give DH more reasons to tease me!

Actually that's a great question--I'd like to know too!

Hi, we took pictures with Jack Sparrow on the Mexico cruise and he talked. We asked him about his compass and he teased us about where it was that our hearts most desired.... He was a little sassy but fun...If you or the kids ask him a question he will answer...

on the repo cruise he was out the night before pirate night as well as pirate night and at castaway cay as well. and yes he talked to people. He was alot of fun and I think our Jack had come from WDW because he remembered meeting me a couple of months ago at the parks. He even remembered where I was from and asked about my daughter who wasn't on the cruise. ( He had started flirting with her and she flirted right back.) He would also pop into Studio Sea during the pirate night game show they were doing. He spent extra time with younger kids and like the other characters, would get down on their level and play with them.

Yes, he does talk on board. He said something about the treasure on my Pirate Shirt.

Of course you could always just bring your own along for the cruise and really confuse people! :) Right Todd?

Brilliant
Better than the real pretend one lol!
We thought the ship board one was ok only. Our photos are ok.but not brilliant
The MK one was much nearer the real thing..but a 90min wait!!!

He was easy to see on the cruise...we saw him a couple times. He does talk, he joked with my ds about boats (can't remember what was said).

I will say that a lot of the "face" characters on the ship seemed very 2nd rate to me compared to what you see at WDW. Just not as much resemblance or playing the character as well. I purposely avoided letting dd see Cinderella on the ship because she was just not what you would expect her to be, and we had seen such great Cindy's in WDW just before that (I think our ship Cindy also played Cruella, which might explain her more villainous features, lol).

We have had the best times meeting Captain Jack. My DH was dressed with a dreadlock wig and Jack was insisting they have their pic made together. It was hilarious. I get all giddy like a teenager when we see him:) which just cracks my DH up! Note the pic in my sig. DD and I

We met Jack on CC a couple of years ago. He drove up in a golf cart... we JUST missed taking a picture! If you can imagine Jack Sparrow lounging in the back of a golf cart (legs over the side) being driven to the Flying Dutchman!

When my DD went up to him he asked her where she was from. She said, 'California' and he replied, 'Oh yes, that's right!' It was quite funny, and although his face didn't look quite right, he had the voice and mannerisms down perfectly!

A friend of mine was on the recent Panama Canal cruise, and she said Prince Caspian was onboard. My kids would love to meet him!

We had a couple opportunities to have pics taken with him last August. He was out a couple times during the cruise itself and then on CC also. We honestly did'nt have to wait long at all....lines move very quick.
